I’d like to say I’m famous for a reason. That I had some talent that brought people to tears, like being to sing so perfectly that even Capitol Records couldn’t turn me down, or maybe I could act so believably that I’d score roles costarring Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Cruise, maybe Robert Pattinson (if I was that lucky).
Truth was – I couldn’t do shit. Sure, maybe I brought people to tears when I sang, but they definitely weren’t from joy. And my acting skills were so-so, if you count staring as Wendy in Lakeshore Middle School’s rendition of “Peter Pan”.
None of these things would get me anywhere. I was riding on fame that had nothing to do any of my talents at all.
I was riding on the fame that came from staring in a reality TV show.
