Today is the anniversary of my best friends death, to this day I still blame myself although no one else does. I could have prevented it, but I didnt...im stupid. About 3 months after her death her house was up for sale and her parents left as fast as they could.
I helped them pack, I would go back to the house after they left. It was empty...so empty. My emotions always took over and all the memories of us were corrupted. Everytime I look out my bedroom window into hers a piece of my breaks. It was 7 months ago I need to get over it, I know.
But there is someone new, a middle aged couple and their...daughter are moving in. She looks to be around 15 or 16, my age. This week went by fast, soon enough they were moved in and my mom was baking the best cookies for me to bring over to them.
"Honey come down here please" My mom calls up to me whilst I lay in bed reading my book. "Coming" I whisper to myself, using all of my energy to get up I put a shirt on a walk downstairs. "You look like a mess, fix your hair" my mother glanced at me as I pushed my wavy jet black hair to the side.
She shoved the large tray of cookies into my hands as she shoved me out of the door. I sighed, walking on the dull sidewalk over to the new neighbors house...yay.
I roll my eyes and ring the doorbell. "Hello" A tall skinny light skinned blonde opened the door.
"Hi...um im your new neighbor, my mom made these" I held up the tray of cookies with a slight smile. She smiled back, her white teeth shining like...like...a star.
"I can take them, thank you. Im Stella, whats your name?" I spaced out in her eyes.
"...Huh, um...I-i mean, Im Dean, its very nice to meet you."
"Well Dean, we should hang out and get to know each other" she put the cookies inside and walked back out with a piece of paper with her number on it. "Let me know when" She giggled slightly and waved goodbye closing the door. "B-bye"
