With sadness comes anger
With anger comes mistrust
With mistrust comes loneliness
With loneliness comes boredom
With boredom comes creativity
With creativity comes creation
With creation comes communication
With communication comes understanding
With understanding comes empathy
With empathy comes peace
With peace comes love
And from that love comes joy, that came from that dark sadness

It is a hard journey to make it to joy and happiness, but we can make it. Just start at where you are in this moment, and write down one thing that dicribes you right now. Then, make a list like this poem and grow until you reach the word joy. Make that your goal. It may take a long time, because it may be a long poem, but it okay. Baby steps tend to lead to something easier and safer then to leap with an uncertainty that you can fall.

Once you make it to joy, you aren't done yet. Ya, I know you've worked so hard and that's okay, take a break, but there's always more. Now make a new goal. Become humble, kind, a listener, and a learner. These are important to become not to be better person, but someone who can be happier with themselves. Because I dislike it when I am prideful, because I know I am not the best, I'm not right all the time, and I know that there is more to life then myself. When I remember past conversations and sometimes I regret them, because I might have been thinking about myself or thinking how I could "help", to change them, to make them my version of perfect. And now I know that that's not a good thing to do. I need to support people to help them embrace who they already are inside, or help them find they are by doing things together like exploring, writing, cooking, exercise, camping, singing, until they find something that interests them.
