~*~ Chapter Twenty Six ~*~

Kiki's P.O.V 

I finally decided to exit the bathroom, I was still really confused about the whole 'Daddy' thing, I just didn't understand. 

"Oh Kiki, here is some food and a warm drink" Eric said handing me the items. 

"Thanks" I replied with a smile, Eric gave me one swift nod and sat back down. 

"Kiki are you nice and warm now?" Tilly asked me giving me a small smile, Tilly never looked fully happy she usually just gave you one closed mouth smile with her little eyebrows strained. I sat down and took a sip out of the warm drink and smiled warmly up at Eric and Tilly. 

"I'll have to train to save my family soon" I said smiling. "It's in less than two days..... My birthday that is" I added smiling still. 

Eric's P.O.V 

I watched Kiki smile up at Tilly and I as she spoke about saving her family, she put on such a brave face when deep down, I knew she was frightened and unsure, I didn't blame her, I had met lots of people who had the same destiny as Kiki had and most of their destiny's didn't turn out according to plan. 

"Tilly, would you excuse us?" I asked Tilly noticing, Kiki was about to crack, I knew Kiki didn't want to cry in front of Tilly, Kiki refused to show any sign of weakness in front of the young girl. As soon as Tilly left the room Kiki cracked, dropping the cup and burying her face in her hands as her body shook with sobs. 

"I can't...... I can't do it" Kiki cried through sobs, I sat beside her placing an arm around her shoulders, and placing my free hand on her other shoulder. "I can't, I can't, I can't...... I just...... I just can't do it" Kiki cried her sobs becoming louder. 

"Kiki, do not be afraid" I whispered into her ear, she didn't take much notice she just continued to cry, it pained me seeing her this way. I placed one of my hands under her chin keeping the other arm of mine around Kiki, I lifted her chin up a fraction and wiped away her tears with my thumb but more tears escaped her eyes. 

"N-No, I-I can't" Kiki said, her voice shaky. 

"Yes you can, you are the only one who has lived long enough to be able to save your clan, you are their last hope don't you get it?" I asked getting a little frustrated, Kiki's eyes lowered and I tightened my grip on her chin a fraction. "KIKI LOOK AT ME!" I shouted causing her eyes to snap back to looking into mine, she looked frightened. "You must stop doubting yourself, do you understand?" I asked her, getting no reaction. Soon enough, without thinking I brought my face closer to hers causing our lips to touch and kissed her, I loved Kiki, more than my own life actually and all I wanted was for her to be safe, and stay brave and strong. 

Kiki kissed me back cupping her hands in front of her chest as I left my hand underneath her chin. I finally pulled away and noticed Kiki had stopped crying, all that was left were two tear drops in the corner of each eyes. She looked at me confused and blushing then she turned her gaze away from mine and held a loose fist in front of her chest. 

"D-Do you really think..... I can do it?" Kiki asked tilting her head a fraction to the side. 

"I do not think, I know" I replied standing up and tucking a piece of hair behind Kiki's ear then I dropped my hand and picked up the cup Kiki had dropped. Kiki glanced at me once more and then looked away again. Kiki then stood up and headed for the door, she opened it a crack and then looked over her shoulder at me. 

"Thank you...... Eric" Kiki said and with that she left the room. 

Kiki's P.O.V 

I pressed a finger lightly to my lips and then dropped it shaking my head slightly through confusion; I headed towards my bedroom and then took out the book that held the answers to everything. I read over the two chants once again and decided I wouldn't waste my time with the first chant and just move on the second chant.
