"We are here." Stated Ethan as he switched of the car engine and got out of the car. I got out when Ethan stood there with a frown, "What?" I asked in confusion.
"I was supposed to open the door for you like a gentleman." He muttered in annoyance. I didn't reply just rolled my eyes before grabbing him by the arm and pulling him into the building.
When we reached outside my apartment door, Ethan quickly blocked my way and whispered urgently. "A quick kiss before we go in and you know they will not let us cuddle or anything in peace." I couldn't help but giggle at the pleading look he was giving me.
I brushed my lips against his in a teasing manner receiving a growl from Ethan, "Stop teasing me." He whispered as his breath hit my lips causing me to shiver. He smashed our lips together as I slid my arms around him to hold him against me but we didn't even last thirty second when the door to the apartment opened.
"They are outside the door sticking their tongues into each other's throat." Holly yelled to the girls inside.
Ethan groaned in annoyance while I couldn't help but giggle.
When I went to the living room, Sally jumped up from her seat, "Well did you get the job?" She asked with excitement. I nodded my head with a big smile on my face.
"OMG!" The three girls chorused and ran towards me to give me a hug.
"We need to celebrate." Holly said in excitement. She bought a bottle of wine and glasses for us all. Once she filled our glasses with the bubbly red wine we gathered around as Holly started to speak, "I want to make a speech for my best friend Myra, who has grown some balls and snatched Ethan for herself-"
Sally quickly interrupted, "I think that's enough of your speech." Sally frowned.
I glanced at Ethan giving him an amused look whereas he just shook his head at Holly's idiotic behaviour.
"I think Myra should make a speech." Leah insisted looking at me with a wide smile.
"Yes Myra you should." Sally agreed.
"Erm okay, well I would like to thank you girls who have helped me to overcome many hurdle which has assisted with where I am today. With my friends, my handsome boyfriend and a job I always wanted. To friends." I raised my glass.
"To friends." Everyone chorused happily as we clinked our glasses together.
"What about your mother?" I heard a voice behind me. I looked back to see my mother standing at the doorway of the living room with her hands on her hips and a scowl etched on her face.
"Mother." I gulped.
"Yes your mother, it seems like you have forgotten me." I realised at that moment that it was the first time I'm seeing my mother after she embarrassed me at the dinner Sally organised.
"N-no I haven't." I stuttered.
"She narrowed her eyes into tiny slits, "Are you sure?" She asked harshly.
"Yes." I answered unsurely.
"You don't sound sure." She stated.
"I am sure."
"So you didn't forget me when you found yourself a boyfriend?"
" I-"
She interrupted me, "You didn't forget me when you realised what you wanted to do with your life?"
I gulped in fear. My mother seemed furious with me; I think I'm in trouble no scratch that I know I'm in trouble.
Ethan was about to open his mouth when my mother turned to him, "I don't want a word from you." She demanded. Whereas the girls knew how my mother reacted therefore, they stayed quiet to avoid the wrath.
