When Stan got out of College he didn't know what he wanted to do with his life. He didn't really have any special talents, he was good at sports but he dropped it after high school and didn't really have an interest in it after. He lived with his parents for a few months before finally getting a job and moving into a apartment.
The apartment wasn't too big and wasn't too small. It fit all of his stuff and he barely had any people in the apartments next to him. So he didn't have to deal with loud neighbors or worrying about complaints of being to loud himself. He worked at a gas station that rarely had more than three people in it at a time. The job he had was a full time job. The only time he got off was the weekend.
So with the time he had without customers he spent his time playing games on his phone. And with not much space on his phone was not many. Four to five at most, the rest of his apps was Instagram and this random dating app. He just never deleted it, He never had a reason to and he always figured he would use it at some point.
And at some point he meant a year later.
Stan slowly opened his eyes after his alarm clock rudely awoken him. After slamming his hand on the button shutting off the noise he sat up, his legs hanging off the edge of the bed. He grabbed his phone off his dresser and quickly typed his password.
He looked through his notifications, nothing too important. He sat his phone back down before standing up and going into his closet. After he was done getting dressed Stan walked to his kitchen. He stood in the doorway staring at the mess. Beer cans everywhere, dishes scattered around, and food still on some of the plates.
He walked past the mess to the cabinets. He looked inside, there was nothing much. A pop tart packet that was already open, a box of cereal that didn't have much in it, and an old muffin. Stan grabbed the box of cereal and grabbed a bowl that looked slightly clean. He poured himself some before checking in the fridge.
There was nothing in there, except for some old beer cans. He shut the fridge, 'Guess plain cereal today' He thought. He grabbed his bowl heading over to his couch. After getting comfortable he turned on his TV and started eating. After thirty minutes or so he turned off the TV and grabbed his bag sitting next to the door.
Making sure he had everything, he left the apartment and walked to the gas station. He walked into the gas station looking around to see if anything was missing. His boss would kill him if something went missing. After he finished checking the store he flipped the open sign and sat behind the counter. A few minutes passed and the bell sang its happy jingle alerting the raven head that had someone walked in.
Sitting up straight he watched the man move across the store towards the bathroom. Once the man disappeared behind the door he slouched down, his hand supporting his head as he pulled out his phone. After a look at his apps he decided he was finally going onto that dating app he downloaded. He tapped on the app and the first thing he was greeted with was bright shades of red and pink.
Trying to ignore these colors he read through the directions, after the directions were done it showed him how to set up his profile.
Name: Stan Marsh
Age: 22
Where You Live: South Park, Colorado
Description: Just your average guy looking for someone to love.
He tapped done and was greeted with his face. The text bubble said something about 'Show everybody how cute and handsome you are' or some stupid shit like that.
He looked at his face closely, noticing every little detail about him. The hair that was showing under his hat was a mess, he had serious eye bags from not enough sleep, and his face looked oily.
The app gave him some information then sent him to a picture of a girl. He looked over her profile before swiping left. He wasn't that much into girls. He wasn't really into anybody, but he did go on and off with a girl through 4th and 5th but he never really seemed to be interested.
Another picture popped up, it was a girl again. He swiped left a few more times before finding one that caught his attention. He had blonde hair and hazel eyes. He wore a white tank-top with jeans in his picture. His name was....Kenny McCormick. Why did that seem familiar? He was pretty sure he knew a Kenny when he was younger.
The dude looked amazing though. So he swiped right and was immediately hit with 'CONGRATS YOU'RE A MATCH' Did the Kenny dude really think he looked boyfriend material? After a looking through a few more people his phone buzzed notifying him.
Kenny McCormick:Hey beautiful, what's up?
Stan mentally freaked out, what does he do? Before He could physically freak out he heard the toilet flush and quickly turned off his phone. The man walked out of the bathroom and out the store. But not before he looked at something for a minute then actually leaving.
Stan quickly turned his phone back on, almost dropping it, and clicking on the message. He started to freak out physically, waving his hand in front of his face like it was a hot summer day with his phone against his chest. 'What do I respond with??'
Stan quickly typed a message and after reading it a few times over for no mistakes he hit sent.
Stan Marsh:Good and how about you?
Oh god, if this dude responded negatively to this he would just quit finding someone and die. What if he actually liked him though? That would be a big surprise. Stan jumped hearing the ding of his phone, he looked at his phone and read the message.
Kenny McCormick: A shy one eh? Well I guess im good
Kenny McCormick:So what are your hobby's?
That was a hard question, he rarely did anything other than work, sleep, and eat. He was good with the guitar, and maybe some singing but it wasn't anything special.
Stan Marsh: Nothing really, unless you count playing the guitar and sleeping.
After Stan typed the message he was immediately hit with a notification.
Kenny McCormick: I think that's kinda cool, I can only do piercings and some graffiti.
He had been looking for someone to do his piercings, maybe he could ask him sometime. They talked for a while before Kenny had to go, which was sad since they were having a good time. Well at least he thought they were having a good time.
It was about 5 when his shift was done. Stan was so ready to flop onto his bed. Maybe he should buy some food on his way home. He was seriously running out of it, glad his paycheck came in today.
As he passed a bunch of buildings, he noticed something about this part of town. Nothing had color, it was all bland and nothing exciting. Ever since he was ten he never really liked anything anymore.
He started getting like this during 4th grade. A gross depressed kid, that drank his way through life. Man was he disgusted with himself. How could Kenny like him? He was just a guy who had a drinking problem, lost all his friends, and could barely pay his rent with a shitty job.
He soon stopped his thoughts as he came upon the store. Stan looked into the store's windows. Like he said earlier, he needed some more food. Stan walked inside the store looking around for some food. He grabbed a few items before finally heading over to the counter. He bought his food with the little money he had then went home.
(Hey guys, this is my first story I've published so I would appreciate it if you gave me feed back! I think I did good but you will never know.)
