"I'd watch it, Bray. A jealous Zech is not a Zech you want to meet."
"I've already met a jealous Zech."
"When?"
"The party?"
"Right," Andrew said uneasily, rubbing his neck. "Sorry about that by the way."
I shrugged, turning down the hall towards our class.
"But seriously. When did it become official?"
"Saturday."
"What'd you do? Just ask her to be your girlfriend?"
We entered the class and I was thankful to see that it was almost empty. Both Andrew and I took our regular seats.
"Kind of. How'd you find out anyway?"
"Collie changed her relationship status on Facebook."
My eyes widened. "She did?"
"Yeah."
"So everyone knows?"
"Everyone who's friends with her on Facebook, and since last I checked, she had about six hundred friends on that."
I wasn't expecting that. I was expecting everyone to slowly realize that Collie and I were no longer just two kids who had a thing for each other, but rather a couple, but I guess Collie just decided to tell the entire world literally a day after I asked her.
I wasn't mad about it. I was more caught off guard. I mean, that might be why everyone was giving me a much more different type of attention today.
"While we're on the subject, why didn't you tell me that you were with Collie?" I questioned, glaring at Andrew.
His eyes widened and he almost laughed. "What are you talking about?"
"You and Collie? In a relationship?"
Andrew shook his head, looking genuinely confused. "I was never in a relationship with Collie."
"Yes you were, before she was with Zech."
Realization ran through him. "Oh! You mean all the way back in sixth grade? Please, Brayden, that was a lifetime ago!"
"You still liked her."
"It was an elementary crush. Every guy who's known Collie has had a thing for her. I'm just another guy."
"You never told me."
"Honestly, I forgot, but even if I did remember, I still probably wouldn't have told you because it never mattered. What sixth grade relationship is relevant?"
I sighed and sat back against my chair. "Sorry. Just... Collie and I spent Saturday together and she told me all about how she was with you and Zech."
"Now Zech's a relevant relationship, but me and Collie never were."
"You were her first kiss."
"Was I really? No way."
"Yeah, you were," I huffed.
Andrew smirked. "Hold on, Brayden. Are you jealous?"
I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms. "A little."
"Dude, you have nothing to worry about. The Andrew and Collie boat has sailed long gone and has no intentions of retreating back."
I bit the inside of my cheek. "That's what she said."
"That's because it's true."
"Sorry."
"It's cool. I know what it's like to be jealous and all that."
