The Duchess Of Canterbury

Part 1

    Once upon a time, there was a king and queen they had recently had a baby that they named Marie, Princess Marie. When Marie was five her parents decided to bring her to see their new castle in the winter Kingdom. Marie was very happy to see this new castle. When they got there she was stunned not only was there snow surrounding it, the castle itself looked as if it was made of ice.

   Marie and her parents got out of the carriage and looked around. The castle had four glass towers connected to four giant glass walls. There was a drawbridge to go across the ice like river surrounding the castle. When Marie got inside her parents took her to see her new room. Marie's room was up in the center tower that was in the middle of their giant courtyard, which had a dome going over it so that it could be warm. On the tower, there was a giant curly waterslide that went down to this amazing pool with a splash pad. Since the courtyard was so big there was also a field lined with flowers along with a picnic table right in the middle, Marie thought it was awesome.

    After Marie saw her room her parents took her to meet her butler who was in the gigantic ballroom. The ballroom looked out onto a snowy meadow surrounded by pine and birch trees. in the center of the ballroom, there was a small table. Marie was curious about this table with an odd guy standing next to it so she went to investigate.

    As Marie got closer she could tell that this guy was wearing a penguin type suit but then she realized it was a tuxedo, and on the table, there was a plate of assorted cookies and a glass of milk. When Marie got to the table she saw a card that said: "HelloPrincess Marie I am your personal butler named Geoffrey I hope you like your cookies". Marie was surprised that she had a butler because her parents did not tell her about that. Marie, like any other five year old, was very happy to have cookies.

    Marie and her parents lived happily for six years in their two castles. When Marie was twelve her parents sat her down and told her "Marie, dear, we have to go back to our castle in the summer realm" ... "Okay, I'll go pack" answered Marie. Her parents looked at her sadly and said: "No Marie, we need you to stay here in Cantaberry." Marie got sad and started to cry "Marie dear, its okay, Geoffry will be here with you and we plan to be back next year to visit, but in the meantime, you need to have your coronation so you can rule Cantaberry while we are gone". Marie collapsed into her parents' arms and said: "I will only do it if you promise to visit EVERY month!" "You know we can't do that honey, but we'll try to come back at least once a year okay?" responded her parents "Fine, but try to come more than once a year, PLEASE?!" said Marie standing up and running away sobbing.

    Two months later Marie was waiting in a room next door to the royal hall with Geoffrey while people filled into the hall. When everyone was inside, the King and Queen entered and after welcoming everyone they announced Marie's name leading everyone to turn around and watch as Marie entered with Geoffrey at her side. When she reached the end of the hall she sat in the Royal Coronation chair and everyone including her parents and Geoffrey applauded. As soon as everyone stopped clapping they started the ceremony. Her parents said a speech and then they all recited a Coronation oath and then crowned Marie the Duchess of Cantaberry.
