Poem 1: I Know

I know that you can hear my voice
Screaming out your name
Over and over.
The dawn is the only witness
To my survival after you left
My heart to bleed.
I can try to be a friend of yours
To forget every detail
Of how we both fell
Inlove.
I can still remember you
Pushing me away
So I know now
Not to scream
Your name.
There is just so much I can take
And I've had enough of you
Wanting to see me crawl
For the same person.
It's time to be someone who loves
And will be loved by someone
I know can handle my heart
With love you didn't give.
I know that you can hear my voice
Screaming another name.
I learned to move on and let go
Of all the pain I've expressed
And the love I have felt
'Cause I know
That it's not
Going to end
Like this.
