November 7th, 1987

I throw down my book bag and collapse onto the couch. I grab the TV remote and browse through the different TV channels, trying to find a channel that interested me. I settle on a random news channel which talked about the usual drama. As I complete my music theory homework, the front door slammed shut as my older brother walked in, carrying a bag of Chinese food.

"Are you just going to sit there, or am I going to have to eat this all by myself?" My brother said as he took out the containers of Chinese food from the bags. I got up hesitantly and grabbed two plates.

My brother and I are poor. We do not get along well with the rest of our family. Our father, Francis, wanted us to go to some suburban college nearby his house, but my brother and I decided that it was worth renting an apartment in the city so that we could go to a good urban college.

My older brother's name is Dein. He's adopted. Dein hasn't told us much about his family other than that his biological parents were very Christian and had unbelievably high expectations for his future. He once told me that he used to sneak off to the library in order to read any book he pleased. After a big fight from his parents when they found horror novels in his school bag, Dein ran away. My father, Francis Marie, found him on a park bench, reading in the rain. My father took him in and adopted him. My father did not even know that he was going to have children of any sort. Dein also is the only one of our family who has gotten in trouble with the law. (An incident involving him getting into a drunken fight at a bar with a rival author.) He is a very imaginative author. He has wrote several books and is very enthusiastic when talking about them. But enough about Dein;

My name is Carlisa Marie. I have long dark brown hair, grey eyes, pale skin dusted with freckles, and a usually-optimistic view on life. I have a half brother and an adopted brother. My mother, Valentina Marie Julien, is Jason and I's biological mother. My father is Francis Marie. He's a widower. He's a mechanic that pretty much can fix any machine. Don't let his car shop fool you, he fixes stuff from washing machines to semi trucks. When I was nine, Francis and I moved from France to the United States. I am now a college student trying to major in psychology and minor in music. So far in my life, I haven't successfully kept a job.

After getting a plate full of lo mein, fried rice, and orange chicken, I sit at the small dining table with my brother. "So how's school?" He asks me, with a mouthful of orange chicken. I roll my eyes at his lack of manners and shrug. "Too much work as always." We continue eating as we talk about each other's boring day.

"You know, sometime you need to help me in paying for rent. I won't be able to afford this apartment for long just as an English Professor. You should get a job at like, Starbucks or something." He states. I quickly swallow my food and reply back with the snarky: "I'll never be able to get a job!" Dein rolls his eyes and reaches into the Chinese food bag on the table and pulls out the newspaper. "Check out the ads. Maybe there's something new." I sigh and skim through the newspaper. "Starbucks...nah that's probably already taken...Kohl's? Nah, they won't accept me....oh? Heh, Dein, I could become a security guard at Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria!" I exclaim sarcastically, with a laugh at the end.

He shrugs. "I mean, it isn't a terrible idea. At least you won't have to deal with obnoxious kids. What time are they wanting the employee to be there?" I look closely at the ad. "They want someone to work from 12AM to 6AM...I mean, it isn't during the school day. I could always become nocturnal and sleep in the afternoon everyday!" I say with a chuckle.

Dein gets up and dumps his plate into a trashcan. "I think you should call and ask for more information. I mean, like I said, no children." He gets up and walks into his room. I stare at the ad, contemplating. I shake my head with a sly smile. I can't believe I'm actually going to call. I pick up the home phone and dial the number printed on the newspaper. After a few seconds, an older guy's voice answered. "Hello there! This is Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria manager, Mr. Valdez! How can we help you today?" This guy was being too enthusiastic. "Hi, um, I saw your ad in the newspaper and I was wondering if you guys were still in need of a security guard?" I stood up and paced the kitchen, nervous. "Oh, yeah! Hey you saw our ad! We've gotten one call so far on that position but we still would like to interview you. How soon can you come here to interview?" "Uh, I can come in anytime." The man shuffled through some papers on his side of the phone then replied back. "Whenever you are ready, but preferably today. We look forward to interviewing you, Miss...?" "Marie. Carlisa Marie." "Well then, Miss Marie, you are welcome to come in today, just make sure it's before 11 PM. We hope to see you become a member of the Fazbear Franchise." The man hangs up the phone and I panic. I usually bomb every interview.
