Amnesia

Chapter 1:Zipped

I was running away aimlessly from the man who was chasing me. I could barely keep myself from stopping as I was panting very hard. Eventually I stopped running, not from being tired but from the circumstances I was in.
I was at the edge of a high cliff. I turned around looking at the man who had a mask on his face, which looked some what familiar. I stood there accepting my fate knowing it was my end. The masked man finally approached me.
He placed his hands out with his palms facing me and pushed me off the cliff. I tried to suppress my scream, but I couldn't help it. The man took of his mask. I was so shocked at who it was I stopped screaming.

"Have a nice fall", said the man in a dark tone smiling.

I woke up gripping my chest breathing hard. Where am I, I thought to myself.

" Oh darling your finally awake".said a soft voice to me.

I turned to see a woman with long brown hair with blue eyes.

"Who are you"?I ask.

" Oh, how rude of me I forgot to introduce myself after getting you from the orphanage, my name is Karen Healy. I would prefer you to call me Mum but you can call me Karen if you don't feel comfortable. Oh, and what's your name".

"Um...".

" I thought so much that you wouldn't have a name. The name I thought of for you is Serena".

"Serena.... I like that". I said.

Karen smiled at my wryly.

" Here's your uniform, now be a good girl and put on you uniform because your going to a new school today".

Karen handed me my uniform and left the room. I didn't know I was an orphan. I wonder what happened to my biological parents.

At School

I walk into the classroom feeling shy.
I hear whispers saying "that must be the new girl". A man walks in and everyone sits on their seats except me.

" Boys and girls we have a new student, so please be nice to her"the man announced ".

"My name is Mr Lenny, you can sit over there beside Michelle"
He whispered pointing to Michelle.

I walk to my seat and sit down beside Michelle at the back of the classroom.
During class a girl with short black hair with brown eyes won't stop looking at me. I pretend not to notice her and keep looking at Mr Lenny.

Lunch time.

Everyone gets up and starts heading to the cafeteria.

" Do you wanna come with me and Rachel for lunch"? Michelle asked.

"Sure". I reply.

Michelle and I walk to the cafeteria. When we get there the same girl that was smiling at me in class was waiting at a table for Michelle and I.

" Over here". She yelled.

I sat down with Michelle beside me and the other girl opposite me.
"This is Rachel", said Michelle smiling at me".

" Don't worry Michelle we already know each other, I've missed you so much ". Said Rachel smiling at me.

"Um... do I know you". I ask with confusion.

" Yes".

".........." I said nothing but I couldn't help but feel bad that Rachel had put effort remembering me and I hadn't.

"Knowing you, you're probably thinking something along the lines like this, I feel horrible this person remembered me and I don't".

" how did you know what I was thinking".

"Once anyone knows you as well as I do Irene, your as easy to read as a book".

" Did you just say Irene".

"Yea, obviously its your own name".

" My names not Irene, it's Serena. Maybe you've mistaken me for someone else".

"But I just know its you your voice is the same, you look the same and even your personality is the same".

" You must have me mistaken for someone".I say again

"Hmm". Rachel's face looked puzzled.

Rachel seemed to know me really well,so well she knew what I was thinking. For the rest of the time when we stayed in the cafeteria she kept on looking at me. Again I pretended not to notice and looked at Michelle.
