"Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. Four seasons, four loves." The man chanted slowly while 3 others were playing instruments in tune with the song and 2 others dancing to it. "Come join us Shadow, you can learn how to play the tuba." His father called out to his 12 year old child. He quietly walked to his father and sat beside him. He watched him play the tuba and how he was able to play in sync with the other players. "Hey dad, there is a women outside of the base asking for your presence," His eldest son called. Their father put the tuba down and the others stopped playing.

It was rare to find any kind of outsider or tourists out in their community. It was located near the place where sand met grass. The desert area of the faunus island was a treacherous place to be. You either made it through or you died. To compensate, they built the community somewhat close to it. Which made it difficult to get there.

"Alright, but take your younger brother back home. Stay there until I say so, got it?" Andrew nodded, "Come on kiddo, we gotta go." Shadow followed his older brother home. As they went home a small boom could be heard. "Shadow you go home and stay inside until either me or pops comes to get you alright?" Shadow nodded and ran home. Andrew went to the where the sound came from leaving his younger brother to wonder if he would make it back.

Shadow stayed inside for what felt like an hour and the noises that were being made outside had vanished. He quietly got out of the house and stood frozen in fear. The people he knew, their bodies laid on the ground, some against the walls of houses. "Leave them alone! They didn't do a damn thing you fucking monsters!" His brother yelled.

A person with a white mask and red eyes held him under her boot. A firing squad was lined up and a group of civilans were against a wall. "If faced with extinction, any other alternative option is preferable. And I'm doing what's best for everyone." Their voice seemed higher than a male's so they must have been a female. She raised her hand up but as she rose her hand Shadow ran at her. He knew it was a stupid idea but his body didn't want to stay still.

She swung her sword at him cutting him from his left shoulder to his right hip. He fell back and laid flat on the earth. "Commander, there are no survivors." The masked women replied, "Good, we have to tie up all loose ends or this'll come back to bite us." She took her sword and stabbed Andrew in his back. He laid motionless and his breathing slower. "Hmph, alright everyone move out. We're done here." The foreigners left and the small town was destroyed.

Andrew thought, 'That bitch, she missed most...' he coughed out some blood, 'of my vitals. Oh shit Shadow!' His younger brother laid dead with the canary in his eyes almost faded. He still had some life in him.

"Shadow, I know that this may not be the right decision to make, but I know that you'll be able to fight. So live the best you can little brother." He placed his hand on his brother's chest. Shadow's eyes showed life again and changed to a bright red hue. He heard a laughter, "Ha Ha Ha! SO what? Am I suppose yo use this kid as a vessel? Ah well, beggars can't be choosers."

Shadow awoke but he was barely conscious. He looked at his body and saw a large scar going down from his left shoulder to his right hip. He tried to remember what had happened but he couldn't. He tried to get up but his body was exhausted. He feel back on the ground. His eyes grew heavy but began to hear a voice, "Hey....hey....hey!" Shadow opened his eyes.

"Shadow," the black hair faunus called to him, "they have your coffee ready." He blinked several times and rubbed his eyes. He gave her a thumbs up and went to retrieve his Vacuo style coffee. "Well then, it's time we head out to Beacon. You better not try to jump out of the plane just because of your fear of heights." Shadow chuckled lightly, "I can promise nothing Blake."
