"Yes I do, and that's why you love me" Emily smiles against my lips before turning her back to me and falling asleep almost instantly

My lips tingle from the sensation of her silk lips against them and my eyes fall closed from the soothing sound of Emily's nose whistle. 'What are we actually going to call him? We took months to decide Lily and Grace's names. I was so bad at picking names I actually thought of calling them Elsa and Anna, what am I going to call him; fucking Olaf? God help us' I think to myself, unable to go back to sleep

Emily's pov

"Hello, is this Emily?" a man over the phone asks

"Yes it is. Sorry who is this?'"

"Hi my name is Lewis, I work for Forever Families"

"Alison, it's the adoption agency" I tell her, holding my hand at the bottom of my phone to block the speakers

Ali runs towards me and nervously stands next to me with her ear resting on the back of my phone.

"I apologise if it is sort notice but in two weeks a baby boy is due to be born and his biological mom wants to put him up for adoption. We think that you would be the perfect family for him. Would you be interested?"

Alison frantically nods to me

"Of course. We would love to adopt him" I smile

"Okay great. We would like to schedule an appointment to meet and talk over the steps towards bringing him into your happy home"

Ali's pov

"Alison should we wait until we have signed the papers to tell the girls or tell them now?"

"I think we should tell them now and then they can come with us to the adoption agency, so that they feel part of the process" I pause to smile "what do you think?"

"Yeah, I think that would be good" Emily smiles, giving me a peck on the cheek

"Lily, Grace, can you come inside for a sec?" I shout out to them in the garden

Lily and Grace bounce off the swings and run towards the back door

"What is it Mom?" Lily asks

"Lil, Gray we have exciting news" Emily smiles, gesturing them to sit down

"You are going to be big sisters" I smirk, interweaving mine and Emily's hands

"Really?" Grace smiles "will the baby like huggles?"

"Yes he will" Em grins, squeezing my hand with excitement

"He? We are going to have a little brother?" Grace cheers

"Yes you are. Do you have any names you like?"

"Santa" Grace shouts

"Okay. Lily what about you?" I ask

"I have a boys name I like"

"What is it?"

"Doesn't matter"

"Why not?" Emily asks

"Because you won't care about me once the baby comes" she tells us

"Lily of course we will still care about you"

"No. The baby will replace us"

"No he won't Lil. You and Grace will always be our baby girls and we will always love you" I say, walking over to her and drawing her into a hug

"Do you promise?"

"I promise" I whisper as I hold up my pinky

"We promise" Emily adds, hugging Grace as Lily wraps her small delicate pinky around mine

"I like the name Oliver" she smiles, leaning her head against my chest

"I like Noah and Dylan" Emily says

"I like the name Santa" Grace tells us again

"Mom what name do you like?" Emily asks me

"It's an unusual name but I really like Emerson"

"Emerson, that's cute" Em smiles

"I've been thinking about it for weeks. I like it because he'd be named after both of us" I say, stretching my arm out to hold Emily hand and resting my other hand on Lily's head

"When is the stork coming?" Grace innocently asks

"In about two weeks, so we need to start decorating a nursery for him and making the house baby proof. Tomorrow we are meeting the storks boss to talk about him, would you girls like to come?"

"I would love to" Grace sweetly smiles

"Me too" Lil grins

I have read your comments and found 4 names I like: Oliver, Noah, Dylan and Emerson. Which name do you think Emison's baby boy should be called?
Also I am Scottish and have found it difficult to not say Emison's "wee" boy; so if I ever accidentally write wee, I mean little 😂-E
