As I stood outside Houston Airport waiting for my ride, I breathed in the air, the weather was beautiful. It was a cold winter night, the wind was blowing and the snow was falling on the ground. It's been a while since we had snow in Houston. This takes me back to when I was a little girl. How i used to love playing in the snow.
I love Winter and Christmas time, those are my favorite times of the year. My grandma used to say Christmas time is the time for Love and comfort foods which brings folks together from all walks of life.
I knew she was saying all that for my benefit. Nana Nana Nana the woman never gives up, just like my mom.....huh.
I remember when Georgie and I were little when our family didn't have two pennies to rub together. We used to live in this tiny two-bedroom apartment. Daddy would drive us around town to see Christmas decorations, while Grandma and Mom would cook all our favorite foods.
We would beg and plead with Daddy to take us to the Lake Olympia neighborhood, all because we heard a rumor at school that Bella our favorite singer in the world, and a lot of celebrities in Houston live there. This neighborhood is one of the wealthiest subdivisions in Houston.
And I always wished upon a Christmas star to live there too, one day......one can dream...., right?
I can't remember how many times we patrolled that neighborhood hoping and praying to see a glimpse of Bella, my brother wishes to marry her one day.......in his dreams...right?
And also to see the beautiful displays of their Christmas decorations, it was beautiful and out of this world.
Fast forward to four years later, we were living in one of the biggest Estates in that same neighborhood and Mummy surprised everyone when she told us that she was pregnant with Sammie; our baby brother. Omg, I thought she was past childbearing age. Anyway, I was too happy being in the same neighborhood as the famous Actress Natasha Klein and Pop Star Porsha Rock to care too much about a new baby at that time, dreams do come true, huh?
When I left home for London, I was 18 years old, confused and broken-hearted. I didn't know how I would ever survive being in a strange country without my family, they are my rock.
I cried nonstop for a whole week, I couldn't eat anything,
Nana would say to me...."Baby girl in your condition you need food to stay alive". And my mom reminded me every chance she got why I needed to step away from the situation I was in.
I was drowning in pain, looking back now they were so right, I am so grateful my family was there for me.
Look at me now, I have grown to love London very much. I have made a name for myself there, three years ago I started my very own Interiors Design Company, and the business couldn't be better, thanks to my mom who referred me to a lot of her friends; who are famous business tycoons' wives.
Yeah..like mother like daughter.....I was fortunate enough to follow in my mom's footsteps. All those years of being her little assistant from seventh grade through High school paid off.

Presently, I just can't believe I am finally going home, I can't wait to see what my two best friends are up to now, and let's not forget my parents too.
Thinking about it now, my Mom has tried every trick in the book to get me to come home, Since I left home seven years ago. She had tried bribing, guilt-trippings, and other stuff that are not worth mentioning, It all fell on deaf ears.
I have my reason for coming back now, my mom thinks I came back because I have gotten tired of hearing her talk about it, I say, let her continue believing that.
Just as my ride was about to pull into my family Estate, I started having this feeling like something was about to happen; call it intuition or whatever I don't know but I just knew that something was up. So the minute I stepped into our house;
