I noticed the anger in his eyes. He was obviously fuming the way a frown settled on his face and he clenched his fists. "What are you doing here?" he gritted through his teeth, the anger literally radiating off him.

"I-I'm just having fun with Brooke. Sorry I should have told you." I answered guiltily.

"Yes, you should have. Come with me.", he grabbed my hand and pulled me through the dancing people, his grip tightening a lot. My mood had changed within seconds. Now I just wanted to get away from here. My lungs were longing for air and I felt terribly guilty. The music was way too loud and all these happy people were getting on my nerves. I didn't know what was going to come next. Well, I kinda knew but I've never seen my brother this angry before. I didn't know that face, he wasn't himself. I was afraid of him and what he was going to do.

We finally reached the front door and I gasped for some fresh air. There were some people outside smoking their cigarettes. I looked at them pleading them for help with my eyes but none of them noticed. I didn't want to follow Nate. His grip got stronger and I was sure the circulation on my wrist was being cut off so winced in pain. He took no notice.

I couldn't run away. It was literally impossible. He walked us through the streets right into a small alleyway and turned around to face me, the anger never left his features.

"You're partying and having fun while our parents are dead. Aren't you ashamed of yourself? You're such a disgrace for our family!" his voice got louder. I didn't dare to look in his eyes. "You should be at home studying but instead you're getting wasted. Probably sleeping with who knows how many guys. You're a whore!" his voice was shaking with anger, and now he was just yelling at me.

"You deserve to be punished and you know this. You know it, how else are you going to learn!?" he shouted at me.

I knew what was happening next. In expectation I was standing there with my eyes closed, ready to get hit. My body was shaking and my breathing was getting faster. Seconds later his fist connected with my nose and like before, the strength tossed me against the wall behind me. I felt something warm running down my mouth and I realised that my nose was bleeding. I sobbed of pain and slid down the wall. "P-please Nate, you don't have to..." I choked out, the pain becoming greater. But he interrupted me. "Shut up, you bitch!" his right foot hit my left leg with great force and I yelped in pain and tried to crawl away from him so he would stop, but he wasn't finished.

He slapped my face with his palm and shouted "You deserve this!"

"Stop!"foreign voice said.

The voice was strong and resolute. I tried to look past my brother to see where it came from but my brother blocked the guy and I could barely see with my eyes glossy from tears. I was starting to feel a little dizzy too from all the blood loss which became a pool on my hands.

"Who the hell are you?" Nate yelled.

"Let her go." said the unnamed man in a calm voice.

"Who the fuck are you?!" Nate demanded a little louder now. I was scared the mans name I didn't know was going to get hurt because of me and I felt a pang of guilt rush through me so I tried to get up to tell Nate to stop but I didn't have enough energy to get up. I felt more light headed by the second.

"Listen mate, I don't want to hurt you. Just let the girl go." the man said but his deep voice had a little edge to it this time.

"And why would I listen to you, bastard? This is none of your business now fuck off" Nate walked towards the guy and tried to push him out of his way. But the guy was apparently stronger than my brother. He pushed Nate in my direction and he fell to the floor and hit his head. I heard my brother let out a ear piercing scream, then he went silent.

I couldn't suppress a scream as the vision of my brother lying on the floor beside me became clearer. I was still sobbing and the person who saved me came closer, his face had worry written all over it. It was the man from the club who was watching me dancing.

He kneeled down next to me and took my hand, careful not to hurt me. I winced in pain when he touched my nose.

"Are you alright? Who was that man? What's your name? Does it hurt? Do you need to go to the hospital? Fuck, off course you do," he muttered to himself.

"I didn't hit him that hard. He drank so much so he surely won't remember this tomorrow." He said referring to Nate.

He had deep green eyes and watched me carefully. "Why did you know that I was here?", I whispered. I was confused. Why did this guy get here?

„Please don't think I'm a stalker! But I saw you in the club and I saw this guy pulling you out so violently and I was worried about you. Come on I'll help you to get up.", He stood and reached for my hand. An unbelievable pain went through my leg when I got up. I moaned and the guy held me stronger. „It's okay. I'll find my way home.", I explained.

„Well, if you say so... And you don't want me to drive you home?"

„Do I look like I'd go with a stranger? I'm not stupid. I'm no child anymore.", he laughed at my respond. „No, you certainly are not stupid. Okay then... Take care of yourself.", he said and turned around. He looked a bit upset and I felt slightly guilty. He saved me and I was so harsh at him. „Wait!" He turned his head. Thanks." He smiled You're welcome."
