Interdimensional Connection

Part 14

Batman jumped down into the tent from the hole in the top, he looks around and sees Nightwing, Damian, and Joker. He walked over to Nightwing and to his relief he started moving, Batman took out a batarang and cut the rope that binding Nightwing. "Go back to the Cave I'll get Robin," and Batman started over to Damian. He rolled his body over and saw the bullet hole in his chest, he picked up Damian and ran to Batmobile. He took off speeding towards the Bat Cave, by the time they got there Damian was pale. Batman picked up his son's lifeless body and took him to his room, and he started to cry.

Bruce called Dick and told him what happened, Dick didn't say anything he just hung up the phone. He couldn't believe his little brother was dead, he tried to think of a way to break it to the titans, so he drove to the Tower. When he pulled up he saw Starfire standing there smiling, Dick got out of the car and walked up to Kori. She could see that his eyes were red from crying, "What happened Dick?" At first Dick didn't say anything then he took a deep breath and said, "Damian is dead. The Joker killed him." And Kori pulled him in and hugged him, "I'm sorry Dick, I know you loved him."

Then the Jamie and Raven came out, "Where's Damian?" Jamie asked. Starfire turned to them, "He died fighting the Joker," she said quietly. Jamie looked down at his feet, and Raven started crying and she fell on her knees. "No! It can't be true! He can't die, Dick please tell me it's not true!" she pleaded him. Dick walked up to Raven and hugged her, "I'm sorry Raven, but it's true." She pulled away from him and teleported to the Bat Cave. "She needs sometime Dick. Let her go," Kori said.

Raven ran up to Bruce and punched him, "How could you let him die Batman!" Raven yelled at him crying. Bruce looked back at Raven he didn't say anything, but Alfred came down into the Bat Cave. "Miss Roth, Master Damian is up in his room. His funeral is in couple hours, I'm sorry for you loss," and with that Raven ran up to his room. She opened his door and just saw him lying there motionless not a single movement, she pulled up a chair and sat at his bed side.

Damian? Damian please wake up.

But there was no answer, Raven put his hand in hers. "You can't leave me Damian. Not when I love you, I still need you," she said quietly. And she fell asleep right there holding his hand.
