The Heart Wants What It Wants

Chapter 1

Selena is 16 years old and goes to Roswell High School in a small town in Georgia. She is a sophomore and goes to a career center called c9. They go there the last half of the school day.

It was just a normal day with her Best Friend Sarah. They were on their way to c9 gossiping about what had happened in their lives. Sarah gets around quite a bit but it doesn't bother Selena. She thinks that Sarah can do what she wants and she usually tells Selena everything she does. She had mentioned a guy named Justin that she was kind of talking to. He really liked her. He would text her things like "I really want to be with you" "I would do anything to make you happy" "You are exactly what I want". I thought he was a sweet kid but i have never met, or even heard of Justin. She also told me that she was talking to several other guys too. She didn't know which guy to pick. There was Garrett, Jacob, Brandon, Mark, and of course, Justin. She was leading them all on but they know how she is.

We got to c9 and I see a lifted blue truck in the parking lot. It was bigger and brighter than the rest of the trucks so it stood out to me.
"That's a nice truck. Who's is it?" I asked.
"Oh that's Justin's!" Sarah said and jumped out. I quickly followed as we walked to the truck. When we get there, I looked up and saw a tall, skinny, boy with brown hair and bright blue eyes. He was wearing a camo hat, jeans, and boots. The typical country boy look. All I could think was how cute he was. I didn't talk to him and he didn't talk to me. He was focused on Sarah. After a few minutes of standing outside his truck, we all walk in together and he walks her to our class while I follow. I get to class and talk to Ashley and Bailey about how cute he is. They have never heard of him either.
"So what do you think about him?" Sarah asked me.
"Uhm.. he's cute." i said while looking at Ash and Bailey.
"I just don't know which guy I should talk to! Justin is a virgin and has never had a real girlfriend. These other guys have but I don't know." she said looking at her phone, trying back several people.
"maybe you shouldn't talk to any of them" I said and laughed. She thought it was a joke and just laughed.

It has been about a week and a half of me riding to c9 with Sarah. Ashley joined us almost everyday to see what Justin looked like. Everyday me and Ash would walk behind Justin and Sarah and just blush and talk about how cute he was. When Sarah got to class, I told her that I thought he was really cute and I liked him and that she should play with him. she just brushed it off because she usually eats any guy because they know she will have sex with them. I ended up getting Justin's snapchat and i would find any excuse to snapchat him. One excuse was to ask for help on math homework, but we only talked a few times and he said about 2 words to me.

-a week later-

it is december 16th and my birthday is the 19th. I'm so excited for my birthday. Sarah asked if I wanted to hang out with her tonight and I am. She picked me up and now we are at her house.
"Hey so we are gonna go hang out with Justin"
"Why? I don't really want to..." i couldn't tell her that i was jealous that she was talking to him and not me.
"Oh okay we don't have to then."

a few hours pass and i'm taking to Katie, Sarah's sister, while she is in the shower.
"Get your jacket we're leaving." Sarah says as she walks in the room.
"Okay. Where are we going?"
"With Justin. He's here."
i rolled my eyes and grabbed a jacket. the last thing i want to do is go hang out with my friend and a cute guy she is talking to, and also screwing over. I go anyway because her sister was leaving too so i couldn't just stay there.
We walk out to his car and Sarah asks why he isn't driving his truck.
"I'm rebuilding the engine. It doesn't run right."
i sat in the backseat on my phone while they were up front talking away. We get to his house and it is huge. He has 3 barns. 1 big one, 1 medium sized one, and 1 huge one. we walked into the big one which was in front of the other 2. He starts working on his engine while i stand off to the side. Sarah plugs her phone in as soon as we got in the barn and was in her phone basically the whole time. Justin asked Sarah if he would go get her a 9/16 wrench and i followed her. We go over and see 2 decent sized toolboxes. She looks through them all and has no idea what she is even looking at. I move her out of the way and grab the wrench for her and hand it to her. She runs over to Justin with the wrench.
"I found it!!" she said while running to him and smiling
i rolled my eyes because i was the one that found it but didn't say anything. Justin looked at me and smirked. I could tell he knew I was the one that found it, not her.

We were there for about 2 hours and she was on her phone 99% of the time and the 1% she was all over him He's not used to that and he looked at me with a 'help me' look. I just giggled. I ended up talking to him a little bit while she was on her phone texting other guys. We got along great! Usually i am very awkward with people i don't really know, but this time i wasn't. After the 2 hours, we left with our friend Susie. We were going to some party 45 minutes north.

When we left he texted me and i was so giddy inside.
"she's a little crazy... idk if i like her"
"well if you don't like her then tell her. don't lead her on" i sounded like a good person but in reality, i just wanted him for myself. it's bad i know but she would just cheat on him.
"i think i might."
"you should. it'd be the right thing to do"
"you're right"
"i know lol"
i tried to find Sarah and i saw her all over some guy. She didn't even know his name. She came back and was all upset that Justin had told her he didn't like her anymore and didn't want to be with her.
"i don't understand why he's going this. it's so shitty. he tells me he likes me then all of a sudden he doesn't!? what a dick." she says then goes back to that other guy.
"i just told her" he texted me about 2 minutes later
"good"

we texted the rest of that night till he went to bed. i was up till about 4 am till i crashed. i was just so happy he talked to me. i think he might be starting to like me!
