Chapter 18: Why Newt why

"NEWT......NEWT!" I screamed as I ran to him tears streaming down my face, when I had got to him he was knocked unconscious. I checked for a pulse thank god there was one, I picked him up and I carried him back to the glade. His leg was cut and bleeding really bad. I had made it back to the glade and everyone was staring at me. But I didn't care I just headed straight for the Med-Jacks, I got to the Med-Jacks hut and I kicked the door open. When I walked in I see Clint, and Jeff there staring at me. "Yes I made it now can you please help Newt." I said setting Newt down on one of the beds, Clint and Jeff come over and insect Newt. First they get a piece of cloth and wet it and put it on Newts leg to try and stop it from bleeding.

"What happen?" Jeff asked me looking at all my scratches and bruises, I didn't realize how many I had till now. I didn't know if I should tell them or not, this could get Newt banished I had to come up with a lie.

"Well I came out of the maze and ran into the dead heads and I found him on the ground like this by tree I'm guessing he jumped off it and it turn out like he'd planed." I said, he bought the story.

"Ok, well he has a concussion I don't know how long he'll be out, you should try and get some sleep." He told me I nodded and headed out the door I wasn't going to go to sleep tho I had to talk to Minho.

"Ok. Hey where's Paige?" I asked balling my fist and filling with anger as I said her name.

"She's in the slammer, banishing her tonight" Clint replied I kind of smiled when I heard that she was getting banished. Then I headed out I had to go and talk to Minho, I looked but didn't find him.

~Newts P.O.V.~

I waited by the doors the whole time so did Gally every time y/n gets stuck in the maze or something bad happens he's there to help her or waits for her. I sat down my back against the wall my eyelids became heavy and I was soon asleep. I awoke to the sun just beginning to come up I looked at my watch it was 4 in the morning there were still 3 hours till the doors open. I looked around some of the usual people are up Alby's up I usually get up around 5 Frypan already cooking. I looked next to me and I realized that Gally was gone.

"Hey, Newt you're up" I hear someone say I turn my head to see Gally walking over with two plates in his hands. He hands me one and sits down next to me, I will admit I was a little freaked out because Gally was being nice to me but I shook it off and started eating.

"Look I'm sorry about what happen a few nights ago, its just that y/n is this amazing person and I don't like to see her hurt. Also out of all the other boy's in the glade she choose you." He said not looking at me, but he was right y/n did choose me out of everybody else.

"I'm sorry to instead of picking a fight with you I should have tried to understand." I replied.

"Do you just want to start new? Because I don't really like us being down each other throats." Gally asked looking at me and I was tired of us being down each other's throats as well.

"Yea I would like that very much" I said holding out my hand and he shook it after that we just talked about some memories we had and what it was like showing up in the box. After we put our plates up to be washed we headed back to the door's there where only 10 minutes left till they open. It was an agonizing 10 minutes then they started to open I had a gleam of hope. But as soon as they door's opened all the way I just saw Minho, and Thomas but no y/n.

"Where's y/n?" Gally asked tears starting to trickle down his face along with mine. At Gally's words Minho sprinted to the deadheads not giving two shucks about what we thought. That left us with Thomas he told us about what had happened. When he told us I couldn't help but drop to my knees everybody else walked back to the homestead except Gally and I. Gally walked off to the deadheads and went into the treehouse only a few of us know about. After a little bit I couldn't take it anymore if y/n's dead I'll die to. So when nobody was looking I ran into the maze I found the tallest wall I could and I climbed up. I looked at the glade one last time then I looked at the maze then up into the sky and said.

"I will be with you again soon love." And with that I jumped off the wall I got slightly tangled up in the ivy. As I was falling I could see her but was it real or was I dreaming it, then everything went black.

~Y/n P.O.V.~

Hey Thomas have you seen Minho

Not since the doors opened he sprinted off into the deadheads haven't seen him yet, hey did you find Newt

Yea I found him, ok I'll meet up with you later

Ok bye

Once Thomas told me that he ran off into the deadheads I knew exactly where he was, I made it to the wall and climbed up. And sure enough he was there he was asleep he had dried tear marks on his cheeks. I tapped him on the shoulder a couple of times and he mumbled a few things then started shaking him and he finally woke up. He sat straight up and stared at me tears once again forming in his eyes. Next thing I know he pulls me into a tight embrace then he whispered into my ear.

"I'm sorry" at that point I didn't fight back the tears.
