Jack's POV
Today when me and Alissa got home from school, we were told by our parents that our great-grandma Abigail, had passed away late last night.
As usual, Alissa was crying, even though we barely even knew the woman. Mom said that later today, we would be going to her old apartment to gather some of her belongings.
Later that day, we all got in the car and drove off to her old apartment. We drove though her neighborhood, to see homeless people on every corner, and abandon old brick buildings.
So when we finally got to her apartment, it didn't smell very good, it smelt like cat pee, even though their weren't any cats (you know what that means). There were piles and piles of junk everywhere you looked.
So we split up to look for what I would say are ancient artifacts. Today I was mainly looking for books more then anything else, so that I could read them, duh what else are you gonna do with a book.
Then Alissa called me over to show me something she found in one of the giant mountains of old junk. It was an old notebook covered with dust and what look some what like coffee stains. I turned to one of the pages in the book, to only realize that I couldn't understand any of it.
I tried to snatch the book from her hands, only for her to take it right back from me right when I got a hold of it, I then realized it wouldn't be that easy to get it from her.
We ended up wrestling for the book, then I asked her why she wanted it, and her response was simply "because I found it". One thing led to another, we ended up tearing a couple of pages out of the book, and then having the wind blow them off the floor and straight out the broken window.
I was so angered by this, that I yanked the book right out of her grip, then stormed away back to another spot on the floor.
Later that evening, when we got back to our house, I sat at my computer on google looking up different codes, trying to find one that matched the one from the book.
I got so frustrated from not being able to find the code, that I closed my computer and went straight to my bed, I was so tired. I grabbed the book from my nightside table, and breafly looked through the pages.
Then it hit me! I recognized some of the symbols from a class I took last year, my ancient history class, my teacher Mr. Patterson taught us about the ancient terms, and some of these terms look familiar.
I hid the book under my bed, so that my sister Alissa wouldn't find it while I sleep. I then turned off my lights, got under my covers, and then got in a comfortable position, then closed my eyes.
Just as I was about to fall asleep, I hear a nock at my door, I jump a little, but was also relieved at the sight, only to reveal...
