Cyrus POV
Im pretty sure I'm fully gay. I never really, really liked girls. Yeah I've dated girls before and kissed girls but I've never felt anything. Aren't kisses supposed to be like little fireworks on your lips? At least that's what I've heard. I wonder if the fireworks were one sided?
So far I've only had a crush on one boy and he is completely straight. His name was Ethan and he was basically perfect-except for the fact that he's not gay- perfect smile, hair, muscles, athletic, a 3.8 GPA. I just wish he liked me back.
I walked into my favorite coffee shop and walked up to the counter.
"Iced almond milk caramel latte please" I said while looking down at my phone. I reached in my pocket to grab my money and I was surprised by who was standing behind the register.
The only person who was even better looking than Ethan.
Most natural looking swoosh in his hair, deep green forest like eyes, soft and gentle pink lips, I see toned arms with decent biceps and the cutest thing of all: his dimples!! and He's definitely new.
"Your new here, I can tell," I say trying to sound as sympathetic as possible. "It's $5.50. And it was yesterday and will be tomorrow when I come here again."
"Oh um okay?" He responds. I'm still in awe of him when he turns around to the coffee maker and can't help myself from checking him out. I'm suddenly snapped out of my daydreams when he is standing right in front of me again.
"Um here you go." His voice is shaky and so are his sweaty hands. He hands me the coffee cup and a stack of napkins. I walk over to a window seat and set my drink down. I plop into the chair and sigh. I take a sip of the coffee and some drips down my chin.
I reach over to grab a napkin to wipe my face. I pick the first one off the top of the stack to reveal something scrawled in blue ink on the second napkin.

I stuff the note into my back pocket and start to feel my cheeks heat up and I glance over my shoulder. I see him at the register still struggling to get the hang of things. Luckily another barista comes to his rescue and helps him out.
I turn away and look down at my phone. I decide to scroll through Instagram while I finish my coffee.
About 15 minutes later I finally finished my grande latte and when I go to return my mug I notice that mystery boy is gone.
" hey where did the new guy go?" I ask the regular barista.
"I have him a break. He looked like he needed it." He says with a dismissive tone. Give the guy a break. It's probably his first job and he's working the only register on a Saturday afternoon. It's rough.
"Yeah he did. Thanks." I nod my head and walk towards the back door. I spot him sitting on a picnic table looking down at his phone.
When I walk up to him he jumps a little.
"Are you ok?" I ask him. Not the best way to start a conversation with a complete stranger but to be fair he did write me a pretty brave note.
He glances up to look at me then looks at the ground.
"Yeah just kinda overwhelmed." He sighs.
I take a seat next to him.
"It doesn't help having a cute boy be my first customer." He smirks. I'm shocked that he said that. A second ago he was moping about being stressed and now he's completely flirting with me.
"Okay first off if your going to flirt with me then at least tell me your name and second, you do realize that it's only your first day. Don't stress out. Everyone is like this on their first day." My comments make mystery boy chuckle.
"Jonah" he hold out a hand.
"Cyrus" I shake his hand. Yep. Still sweaty. It's cute though. He acts so confident but he's actually nervous. What am I getting myself into.
