galaxy

you're made of stardust,
pine wood in your eyes,
red wine in your lips,
shooting stars in your heart;

your skin is made of mars,
cinnamon brown in fine dust,
you bring life to my day,
you bring light to my dusk;

i tried to write you down with these words
but disappointment was the result,
for you're much more than the entire universe
and you deserve the whole world;

if i ever let you go
just know it's to keep you pure,
because happiness can't exist without you here,
because the stars can't shine without you;

you're my sun flashing bright,
you're my moon amidst the void,
you're the stars to my sky,
you're the honey to my voice;

and if you ever doubt your worth
i'll be here to let you know:
you're the most precious person on earth,
you're my home in this world.
