So this is the first ever poem I've ever written which thanks to my friend "Inconvenience Man" (a nickname, you know who you are ^_^) has inspired me to write a poem without him I probably wouldn't have pushed myself to try this. If you have an interpritation of this poem feel free to comment or message me I'd love to hear your thoughts and perception of this poem and would love to dicuss it with you guys ^_^. While writing this poem I was listening to music by Lucas King which I absolutely love, the specific song i was listening to is above and I feel it adds to the atmosphere of the poem.

The day comes to an end as evident by the dimmed sky,
only to be greeted by the inky void with specks of light up high,
laying down in the soothing embrace of the bed,
passing time until it's time to rest the weary head.
For most this is how the beautiful night greets them,
comforting them like a long lost friend,
what there is awaiting for me is a darkness filled with uncertain dread. Sitting here feeling completely alone,
my heart is racing, don't think, calm down just count to three,
please shut up thoughts you are scaring me.
Suddenly greeted by morbid images flashing into mind,
knowing that this is yet another night that won't be too kind.
Time passes and the body is getting heavy,
almost screaming please let me be I am tired of this already, exhaustion takes over the body allowing oneself to drift off into slumber. There is no solace nor sanctuary to be found in my land of dreams, but rather hellish nightmares that tear my emotions at the seams.
WAKE UP! WAKE UP!! WAKE UP!!! My mind and body screams
forcing me to evacuate slumber,
flooding me with emotions which are somber,
only to realise the nightmare has not left,
feeling like I'm being confronted by death.
Vividly morbid scenes playing and threatening my life,
the shock feels sharp like my skin has been cut into by a steely knife. As tears stream down an scream escapes the lips,
only to realise no noise comes out as your mind is tricked,
frozen in place with the heart beating as a drum,
dreading to think what's to come.
The scene vanishes before my eyes,
reveaing the scene to be nightmarish lies,
stuck in one place paralyzed by confusion,
unable to tell the difference between reality and delusion.
Stunned in place illusions leaving suffocating melancholy in it's wake, a state of mind so fragile to break,
although it is over now it is not the end,
because the next night shall bring the same again.
