Chapter 2: "You psychopath, you almost killed me!"

I would like to say, I woke the up next morning with a smile on my face. Eyes closed, I breathed in the morning air and exhaled loudly. Stretched then got up immediately and took my time to walk around my room looking for my yoga mat. Exercise is healthy. I believe it gives us positive thoughts about new beginnings, fresh starts and the Green Earth.

But that's the thing, I would like to say that. However, I'll tell you what actually happened.

Morning came way too early, much to my displeasure. I had snoozed the alarm about a million times, rushed to the bathroom, never had a shower quicker than this one in my entire life, dressed up (fancy words for 'put on black jeans and a grey t-shirt'), almost tripped on the staircase as I ran downstairs, didn't say proper hello or goodbye, for that matter, to my father, couldn't even think about spending a minute on breakfast, and ran out the front door just as Landon's motorcycle stopped in front of my house.
All in all, I was late. And I hoped it didn't show.

"Hey" I said, a little too loud and quick. Then tried to cover it up with an embarrassed smile.

He chuckled, "Hey. You ready?"
You think?

"Yeah"

"So what're you waiting for? Hop on."

When I walked closer, it was then I noticed what he was wearing. And I swear, I took a minute to breathe. White tee, dark jeans and Nike's. And that smile on his face. And his pretty eyes looking at me. Stop
Isn't he a vision?
Stop.

The ride to school was weirdly... weird. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to put my hands on his back, or around his back, or on his arms, maybe?

Well, it is safe to say I wanted to get off. Soon. And thankfully as it turns out, my school is not very far away from my home. Go figure.

The minute I got off the motorcycle, I could feel eyes on me. Well, it's probably not everyday a new girl gets to ride on the motorcycle with this pretty face. Ahem, I mean Landon.

While the rest of the student population of my class was working on their algebra problems, I was doing something much more important, like wondering the entire point of algebra and mathematics. Suddenly my phone buzzed indicating I received a text. I looked down to see it was from Alexis, my girl. My face immediately brightened.

'You my girl. Miss me yet?'

I smiled. She'll never change.

'Well, they do say distance makes the heart grow fonder'

'I got the translation. "I miss you like eff Lexx and I wish I'd never left you with these jerks who cannot understand your humor"'

I laughed at that. Probably a little too loud. I looked up to see the others looking at me. Some with disapproving looks and the rest with smirks on their faces. I mean, I hoped nobody paid enough attention to me but clearly that wasn't happening. Well, guess who enjoys attention?

I cleared my throat and put on a poker face. What's up guys?

Ms. Higgins, thankfully, was too engrossed in her algebra problem to notice me, or maybe she just didn't care enough. Either way, I was grateful.

But not-so-thankfully, the one person who shouldn't have noticed me, noticed me. Ryder Knight. His bright green eyes never left me. I bit my lip and clasped my hands together to keep them from shaking. His gaze. Something about his gaze... But that jerk had the audacity to smirk at me when he saw me staring at him. Ugh. I just decided he's not worth the attention and shrugged.
