Lilly

chapter 1

Everyone returned back to school as normal in 2017, except this year it wasn't normal. There was a new girl called Lilly. The school of St. Catherines secondary school has had new kids before but never like Lilly. Some girls invited her to eat with them but then after speaking with Abby Callister, in 2nd year ( the same as Lilly), they got up and moved. But why. So many questions went through Lilly head at that moment; "why invite me if your not gonna stay seated?", "did that girl tell them not to?" and "is that Abby Calister?".  No one sat at the table while she was there, even though people were squished on other tables and others on the floor. Lilly  went over to one and invited her to sit beside her but she denied it. People sat at the table Lilly was sitting at while she was gone and when she went back they wouldn't let her sit down again. No matter how much she said "excuse me i was sitting there could I sit back down?" They just said "no!". So she went to a different table and "No!", "No!" and "No!". She finished her lunch and went to class. Lilly found an empty seat and was about to sit down when a girl called Anna said someone sits there. Grace, Rachel and Saidbh all said the same. Lilly finally found a seat and put her stuff down, then the teacher, Mr. McNamara, called her up to introduce herself.
"My name is Lilly O' Donohoe.  I'm 13 years old and I just moved here from Waterford Town."
"OK great now I want everyone to treat Lilly as you..." "... would like to be treated yourself" the rest of the class continued from Mr. McNamara's speech.
"Hey nice glasses" said a boy called Mark.
"Thank you" Lilly replied.
"Can I see them?"
"Sure" Lilly handed her glasses to him, she couldn't see very well without them but she wanted to get on everyone's good side. Mark broke them.
"Did you just break my glasses?" Lilly asked him.
"Um, yeh can you not see?"
"Not without them" Lilly was wondering should she tell the teacher. 'I think I'll tell teacher.' She said to herself. 'But then people will be angry and be even meaner to me.' So Lilly put up her hand and said she dropped her glasses and they broke and that without them she can't see much.
"OK, so Lilly and em...."
" Ooh pick me" everyone was calling out to him.
"...Abby" Mr. McNamara chose "will the two of you go to the office and get them to call Lilly's mum and tell her to bring over Lilly's spare pair of glasses please"
"Sure" Abby said all innocent like. But Lilly could see through her little act for the adults. As they left the classroom Abby asked if Lilly was that Lilly O' Donohoe from primary school.
"Well are you that Abby Callister from primary school"
"Great" Abby grunted. Lilly and Abby went farther back then anyone thought they did, why they didn't like each other, well that's a different story for a different time.
