History Lesson

It's my first day at this new school. I would have rather stayed behind and be going back to my old school, but like mom and dad say... we can't stay in one place for too long. Hence why we moved and now I am starting at a new school. The only reason I am nervous is because we moved right into werewolf territory, and for people like my family and I that is pretty unsettling. See I am not just some teenage girl, nope. I am a vampire and a witch. My mother is a witch and my father is a vampire, we are royalty... well we were until I was born. My mother abandoned her coven to be with my father, and my father betrayed his kingdom and abandoned the throne to be with my mother. They were both forbidden to be with each other, they disobeyed their individual laws and ran away together, and they are being hunted. Mom always says she couldn't help loving dad and wouldn't change anything that happened if she could. Dad always says it was the mate call that pulled him to mom and made him leave behind his kingdom. See Vampires have mates and even though they can be with anyone they want, they can never be truly happy or settled in life until they find and are with their mate. 

It is rare that a vampire finds their mate, so many vampires are whores and always jumping from one person to another. It has never been heard of however that a vampires mate be found in a witch. Witches and Vampires aren't exactly enemies, but they aren't planning picnics and hanging out like old friends either. Dad was in town when he felt his fangs suddenly extend and he felt like ants were in his pants, that is apparently a sign that your mate is nearby. He searched around and when he saw mom everything fell into place for him, she became everything to him. Mom at first didn't know what was happening, but after a period of time and her powers talking to her she realized what it was. She knew not to fight the mate bond, and even though witches don't have mates, she knew somehow that she belonged with my dad.

Moms coven and Dads kingdom have been hunting them since they ran away together, there have been a few times where they were almost captured. One specific time was when mom was pregnant with me and they believed they settled somewhere that nobody could hunt them down and capture them. Unfortunately, they were wrong. Mom was shopping in town and was nearly captured and she almost lost me. Neither of their people knew mom had become pregnant, but after that near capture they learned the truth and it wasn't good for my parents. Never in history has there ever been a vampire witch pairing, let alone a vampire witch individual. Yet, here I am.

I am 18 years old and I am the only vampire witch. My name is Alina D'Vaign and this is my life. On the run with my parents and being the person that both my parents coven and kingdom want dead. I am the abomination to them, I have powers and I am a vampire. As vampires we age slower after you turn 18, you have heightened senses too. I am fast, faster than your fastest track member. Most vampires need the blood to survive, my dad feeds a few times a week and he is fine. Me, well I can feed once a month and survive on human food. With my powers and being a vampire my parents call me a huge threat to my moms coven, because my powers are strong and I have a lot that I can do and control and I am a threat to the vampires because I am heir to the throne as well as being stronger and well... better than the other vampires... all thanks to my magic.

Like I said earlier,  I would have been happy to stay behind, but they found us. So we ran. Now we are in America and now I get to start my final year of school at an American school. Probably wondering how I was able to attend school with hunters after my family and me especially... well that has to do with the fact that my parents and I all use fake names, but I also have the ability to change my appearance by just picturing how I want to look or what I want to change on me. Awesome huh? The one thing I can't seem to change though are my eyes. Luckily the hunters have no idea what my eyes look like, and I could and have tried contacts, but they irritate my eyes so I leave them alone. I have two different colored eyes, my left eye is a crystal blue that looks like it glows and my right eye is a weird purple. But other than my eyes I can change anything and everything else without effort.
