The bruises on my skin,
Hardly account for the pain that I,
Fill within.

We talked about having our own kin.
How do thoughts and ideas like that just end,
As brief as a gust of wind.

We had the plan of getting married,
But it all got carried off,
By the thoughts of another man.

We had plans of moving to Ireland,
We thought of it as the promise land,
All to be taken away,
By the canned up thoughts,
Of another man.

We both liked the name Wyatt,
We wanted to try it,
We wanted to tie it,
But the reappearance of a previous lover,
Made you want to deny it.

I loved you with all my heart,
We thought nothing could tear us apart,
We had thoughts of pushing a baby cart,
Our love kept these thoughts an open door,
But the thought of another man made you take a detour.

You said it would me who left you in the end,
That was a thought that I just couldn't comprehend,
But the remembrance of him,
Caused the reality to bend,
So you chose him.

Where did all of these thoughts go,
I don't think I'll truly be able to fully know,
Now my pain is the only thing that I have to show.
