Nathan nodded, and Victor stood up, looking at him. “It was pleasant speaking with you, though I must be on my way.”
Nathan nodded again, standing up as well before Victor headed off.

Tuesday June 1st, 1993
Natalie ambushed me in one of the barns today. I was stacking hay bales for the three horses we have, and the next thing I knew her arms were around me and her fangs in my neck. I have never felt anything like it before, not even the blow Kacey delivered to me in the Board Office.
There wasn’t much I could do but react, and because of it, I ended up having to order new hay bales. The others ones were rather torn apart, though sex in a barn was one of the better experiences I’ve had.

“Oh my God.” Varian muttered, slowly lowering the journal he held in his hands to his lap. “Oh my God.”
His father had had sex in a barn. He could deal with that. He was also highly aware of just how good it felt to be bitten by another Changed vampire, that was fine too. Even his mother ambushing his father.
“Oh my God,” he murmured, staring back at the page and hastily reading through the passage again. June 1st, 1993. June first. 1993.
“What are you raving about?”
Looking up to watch Evan closing his front door behind himself, Varian jabbed a finger at the journal. “This.”
Putting his hands into his pockets, Evan came over to stand behind Varian from his spot on the floor, bending down to peer over his shoulder at the entry. His eyes moved quickly, taking in the page before he snorted.
“Wow. A barn of all places?”
Varian could feel his face heat up, but shut the journal anyway, tossing it to his far right in the hopes he wouldn’t have to pick it up anytime soon. “Geez.”
“A barn’s not that bad.” Evan said, walking around to seat himself down on the floor in front of Varian.
“Yes it is!” Varian snapped. “Oh my God, if people knew that, they’d never let it go. It’s embarrassing.”
Evan flashed him a crooked half smile. “Certain people already do know, darling.”
Varian felt his mouth open before he narrowed his eyes at his friend. “Don’t you dare. Don’t you even think about going around and telling people.”
“Why not? It’s not that bad.”
“I’m a farmer. I was raised on a farm. I tend and own a farm. It’s the worst possible thing.” Varian said. He wasn’t going to let this go like Evan seemed to be suggesting. How was he supposed to be able to just let something that ridiculous go?
