"Tell us where this girl is, and we'll consider not killing you!" Said a male voice. You look over to see two soldiers from Chilled's army. You quickly hide, in hopes that they didn't see you. They had to be speaking of you, because it seemed you were the only female on this planet. Your mind was racing when you heard a commotion coming where the two soldiers were. You looked to see Bardock, and the two soldiers were dead.
You walked out from behind the rock, and noticed Bardock was staring at you. Before you knew it, Bardock was directly in front of you, a scowl on his face. "Why were these men looking for you?" Bardock asked, and you could tell he wasn't going to take a snarky remark as an answer.
You sigh, crossing your arms. "I guess the 'almighty Lord Chilled' wasn't satisfied that my entire planet wasn't enslaved or killed. So he sent a couple men to find me." You say, looking down. "But to be honest maybe I should have let them. My parents are most likely dead by now, my siblings, my friends... all gone." You couldn't help but let a tear slip past your eye as you turn from Bardock.
Although he wouldn't admit it, he knew your pain. After all, he had lost everything to Frieza blowing up his home planet. He watched as you turned with a sigh, slowly walking off.
"But why would you care?" You say, walking away to who knows where. You finally stumbled upon a cave and walked deep inside it. Sitting down, you started to cry. You would never get to see your friends again. You'd never get to hear your parents say I love you anymore, you'd never even get to play with your siblings anymore, all because Chilled either enslaved them or killed them most likely. With a few more sobs, you started to hum a lullaby your mother would sing to you when you were a small child, something that always calmed you.
You stopped when you heard footsteps echoing through the cave, and you looked up to see none other than Bardock there. Your turned, facing your back towards him. You really didn't want to deal with that asshole right now.
"I know how you feel." Bardock said, though it was very stubborn, as if it might have hurt his ego or something.
"You know nothing of what I feel." You say, still facing the opposite direction.
With a sigh, you heard footsteps, and Bardock was beside you. "I came from the future, I don't know how but I did. The future where I came from, there was an evil bastard named Lord Frieza. He killed my entire race by blowing up our entire planet. I was pretty sure I was dead, but somehow I was sent here."
You looked up at Bardock, a look of pity on your face. "I- I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be so-"
"Forget it. You had no idea." He said. Somehow, even now he managed to be an asshole. But you could endure it. With a sigh, and a yawn, you lay down.
"I know I just woke up, but I'm going back to sleep." You say, turning your back to him. You felt his arms wrap around you and you were gently picked up. "Where are you-"
"Back to your warm, soft bed you idiot." He said, keeping a neutral face, though you could hear the slight annoyance in his words.
"Ya know, if you really wanna sleep on a bed so much, I'll let you sleep on the bed and I'll sleep on the floor." You say shyly.
"And why would that be?" He asked with a smirk.
"Hey don't get the wrong idea, buster. I'm just trying to be nice." You say, crossing your arms.
He just chuckled slightly. "You can sleep on your bed. I have my cave floor."
You sigh rolling your eyes. "Bardock just sleep on the damn bed. Hell if you don't want me to sleep on the floor I'll share." You blushed as you said that statement.
"And why would I share a bed with someone like you?" He said, looking down at you.
"Well, the cave floor does look comfy. I'm sure it's better than my bed." You look away from Bardock, and at the red sky, which was darkening slightly.
Bardock didn't answer, he just stayed silent as he carried you to the house you were currently staying in. Once he laid you down on the bed, he crawled in with you, getting under the covers and turning his back to you.
You smirked, chuckling slightly. "Guess the cave floor isn't that comfortable, huh?" You say aloud.
"Tch, shut up." Bardock snapped back, only making you chuckle a little more.
You turned to face him, only to face his back. With sleep casting it's spell on you, your eyes closed, and you cuddled into Bardock's back for warmth.
You were running, crying as you did. Someone was tailing closely behind you, and they had no good intentions, that you knew of for sure.
As you ran, you heard the screams of your family. Every individual scream was either your name or a help us. Then you heard it. That laughter. It was Lord Chilled, laughing as you ran and hid in an alley way.
You pulled your knees up to your chest, hoping not to be found. But, as luck would have it, you were. Chilled found you and kicked into the brick wall.
"You really think you could hide from me?" He said. He stomped on you, stomping you into the ground, and you were sure there was broken bones. He kicked you, turning you over.
You stared as he charged an attack, aiming his hand at you. "When you get to hell, tell your parents I said hello."
You screamed as he shot the attack, killing you instantly.
You woke up with a scream, looking around, frantically taking in your surroundings. You suddenly look over to see Bardock, who's awake and looking at you worried.
"What's wrong?" He asked, worry and concern written on his face.
Without a second thought, you hug him, crying. He was stiff at first, but then hugged you back, his warmth comforting you slightly.
"It- it was ch- Chilled. H- he... he..." You managed out, right before crying harder. "My parents... I heard them screaming as I just ran...."
You felt the man start stroking your hair. "It was just a dream. Calm down."
You nuzzle your head even more into his chest, your tears falling on it. "They're all gone! My parents! My silblings! My whole race! They're gone!" You yelled into his chest, it muffling your voice. "I'm all alone!" You punched his chest. "It's not fair! Why!? Why did it have to be our race!?"
The man just sighed as he just held you, stroking your hair. To be honest, he had no idea how to deal with this. His race was a warrior race, they never had to deal with feelings like sadness. But he knew your sorrow, because the same happened to him. His family, his friends, his whole race, they were gone too.
And, as the man held you, a strong urge overcame him. He looked down, peeling your head from his chest. Tilting your head up to look at him, he kissed you. He held your face in his hands, wiping away your tears with his thumbs.
As he pulled away, you looked up at him in shock. "Shhh." He said. "Everything will be okay. Just know one thing."
"And what's that?" You asked, still dazed.
"I'll always protect you, even if it were to put my life on the line." He said.
A warm feeling arose in your chest as you looked at him, and you knew that you loved him. You kissed him back, and then you both layed down, cuddling each other as you slept.
