paper hearts; twelve

love letters fly around the room like paper airplanes,
shooting and gliding about in the air.

you try to catch one,
and successfully do so.
happily acquiring one paper airplane,
grabbing it in the air mid-flight.

but it is not quite a love letter.

it was crumpled to the very edge if it's existence,
the black ink darkening it's white sheet.

reading it brings tears to your eyes.
for this airplane turns your heart into paper,
and rips it apart.
