Chapter 8- Returning 'Home'

Yeah, you're worried about me because you don't want me killed, I asked.

No. I seriously am worried about you.

Whatever. Cassi how do we turn this thing off or block him?

Just think about building a wall. So I did that and didn't hear from Ace for the rest of the night.

The next morning, after sleeping under the stars, I got up and finish finding my way out of the forest. When I got out there were twice as many guards in the town. Not good.

I decided to go all around the town, rubbing my sent off on a bunch of stuff so that if Ace comes by he'll go on a huge goose chase. Good, now to go and hide to watch the fun!

I hid out there all day and Ace never showed. By the time I'd left my hiding place it was lunch. I quickly stopped to eat and then as I was walking back to that secluded place I'd know I'd made the wrong choice of coming back.

"Well, look who decided to come back", the guy with the paw print cheek said. Great, these guys again.

"So, you made the mistake of coming back. I thought I chucked you pretty far."

"Yeah you did. You chucked us all the way to the Wizard/Werewolf kingdom borderline. Which is forty miles from here. So why are you here, Wizard?" Oh, man, these guys think I'm a wizard.

"I'm here because I am. Got a problem with that?"

"Yeah. Yeah, I do. So I'm going to get rid of the problem", he said and then lunged for me.

"Oh, you don't want to get rid of me", I said then I ran up to him, grabbed his arm, and flipped him over onto his back. He grabbed my ankle and knocked my feet out from under me. Before he could do anything else, I rolled away, just missing his hand as it came down where my face was.

"Do you have any accuracy?" I mocked.

"Don't mock me, Sissy. Just hold still and I'll make this as painless as possible."

"I wish I could say the same about you", I said then punched him on the gut, causing him to stumble backwards.

"I'd watch what you say, if I were you," he got up and grabbed my wrist.

"To bad you're not me then," I said as I used his grip on my wrist to swing him into the wall next to me.

Then out of nowhere something came running past me and knocked him over. It was a familiar looking black wolf. Ace. Man, why can't he just leave me alone?

He quickly shifted back with Paw Print Guy still in his grip.

"Guards!" Ace called and then a bunch of guards came running past me and Ace gave them the guy. He looked at me and then I ran. He grabbed my wrist and turned me to face him.

"Zoe, why are you doing this?"

"Ace, I don't want to be stalked by some guards all the time. I can protect myself, you saw that, then you just jumped in and played hero for a 'damsel in distress'. I was just fine."

"Zoe, that's Joe Lainey. He's a criminal, you didn't have a chance."

"You never even let me finish. I got rid of him the first time and I could have gotten rid of him again."

"Say what you want, but we're going home."

"Home! Since when is the castle my 'home'? You forced me to be here."

"Zoe I'm doing this for a reason."

"Why? What reason is it? That I can end a war and save your precious kingdom? That I'm supposedly your mate? Why? Name the reason! Wait! Don't, I don't want to hear it!" I shouted.

"Zoe. Please stay. I'm worried about you and that's my reason. Just come back. I know that you can protect yourself, now. Just come back."

"Only if you promise that you wont have like twenty body guards on me."

"Fine. Just come back," he said with pleading eyes. I finally gave in and we went home.

"Zoe!" Avery shouted as she gripped me in a hug. I had just gotten back with Ace and had opened my bedroom door and already I was tackled. "I was so worried about you! Why didn't you tell us you were Alyson Zurach?" That got me.

"What do you mean? How did you find out?"

"You left the website editing screen up on your laptop.

"You went digging through my room?!"

"Ace made me!"

"ACE!!!!!"

"Yes?"

"You sent Avery digging through my room?" I bellowed.

"Hey, it wasn't just her. Bryon helped me, too." I screamed. No one. I repeat no one goes through my room without my permission.

"Ace Zarden. How dare you..."

"Umm... Zoe-"

"Ace, why? I always knew you were a jerk, but that you'd sink that low..."

"Zoe, why are your eyes red now?"

"My eyes- what?"

"You're eyes are red," he said then I ran to my bathroom. Sure enough, instead of my purple eyes, they were tinted red.

"Why are they red?" Ace asked coming in by me.

"I don't know. Cassi?"

They change with your emotions. Red means angry, orange is anxious. Yellow means nervous and green means you feel sick or nauseous. Turquoise: sad, while blue is calm, so that'll most likely be your normal color. Purple means confusion. Brown means that you gave me full control, and black means fear. Also when you use your magic, the color of the magic will change with your mood, too.

"Oh, thanks that was alot."

"Were you talking to your wolf?"

"Yep. She said that my eyes and color of my power change with my emtions. Can you guess what I am now!" I shouted at him.

"Yeah, I can make a pretty good guess."

"Good. Now why did you search my room?"

"We needed clues as to where you went."

"Don't you ever, and I mean EVER, come in here without my permission again! Do you hear me? Never!"

"Alright."

"Good. Now get out." I said then pushed him out of my room and slamed the door closed.

"Avery," I asked as I ploped down on my bed next to her, "what color are my eyes now?"

"Umm... they look blue with a tint of red."

"Good."
