Sierra stepped out of the shower blindly reaching for the towel that hung on one of the racks of the hotel room's bathroom. Wrapping it around her body, she stands in front of the mirror and stares at herself. Her long black waivy hair unruly and went down her back. She gave an awful long sigh as she mentally runs through what is needed to be done today the, blindly reaches for her toothbrush.
First day of tour.
She was lucky enough to get the job for someone who is very inexperienced in production and event management. Freshly out of college, with dropped and failed subjects along the way, she never really knew where she would end up. One thing is for sure though, she refuses to back down. She likes to think that she's just so bad in school but very street smart which is actually almost true. At 27 years old, she is a very life-experienced and very charismatic young woman who gets along with almost everybody. A very easy going and very honest individual, she is often one of the guys than hanging around with girls.
She started out as an intern, running around printing papers and fetching coffee for the highest to the lowest position of the company, and was lucky enough to be dragged almost across the country for this event. So that was her for the past 3 years.
She quite remembers it clearly.
Part of her job was to sit in meetings when the Executives are pitching their ideas to the artists or group for a prospect concert, event, or tour. For one idiotic moment in one of those situations, she blurted out her honest idea and before she knew it, the whole room was staring at her. Ashleigh Davidson, one of the pop sensation of this generation, one of those women who looks like they are straight out of a glamour magazine asked her to repeat it. With sweaty palms, she did. And ever since then, she was asked of her honest opinion in everything. Mr. Richard Griffit, a man that never even looked at her way once every time they come across each other in the hallways was suddenly so fond of her. This then, made her the Head of Production and Stage Management Department. A job description that sometimes requires her to travel with every talent across the country in every tour or concert that has a contract with their company. Now a year after, the company is bigger than ever and her life is very far from the intern girl that she once was. That is the history of her career in 'The Creatives', the most sought after Concert Promoting Organisation in the whole of Los Angeles.
Her phone rang from the bed side table as she was pulling her tattered jeans on.
"Rodriguez here." She answers as she clipping the phone between her chin and her shoulder as she continues to pull her pants up.
"Si, the stage and lighting guys are here." It was her assistant and good friend, Paige.
"Let them in. Have all the IDs processed and let them sign the paper work signed first before they start setting up." She rummages through her suitcase which was opened on the couch.
"Okay. The catering also said that they might be an hour late because of some accident." Sierra could here the rustling at the back.
"Just make sure they don't go more than an hour." She says as she hits the speaker button and slips her black off shoulder blouse on.
"Oh and the building people are asking for the legal papers."
"Have it printed out and have a signed copy for the building manager and one for us. I'm heading over there now." She takes her phone and her purse and steps out the door ready to start the awful long day.
