Layla, sitting at the library, is looking at her textbook. For a girl who loves to study, it is just normal. She is waiting for Naomi to come. Her friend promised her a coffee if she comes late. Layla takes a look at her watch; Naomi is late. She waits ten more minutes, hoping for her friend to show up.
When Layla thinks that she has waited long enough, Naomi walks to her table.
"So-sorry... L-Layla... M-my c... car"
Layla, seeing her friend exhausted, proposes her to sit down.
"So what happened to your car? Broken? Accident? Or you saw a supper nice hot guy?" She asks.
"Oh... if I saw a supper nice hot guy, I would have brought him there. But no... My car's battery was dead. I had to ask my cousin to change it. And he decided to take his time, make me wait. And he did all kind of weird stuff! He thought he was funny, but he looked like a crazy!" Naomi hands are going everywhere, she is angry at her cousin. Layla giggles.
"So he retarded you?"
"Yeah... and I am late..."
Layla stretches her hand.
"And my coffee? Do you have it?" Layla smiles innocently.
"Yeah, I have it. There you are."
Naomi takes it out from her Hermes purse and tends it to Layla. She puts it on the table and reassembles her books in a pile.
"Woah! Were you studying there?" Naomi asks with a disgusted face.
"Calm down Nao, I was waiting for you. And I had to study, tomorrow's class is apparently very hard. I wanted to get prepared. That's all! Don't dramatic everything please!"
"Suuure! It's almost nine o'clock, your parents must be worried no?"
"Maybe, but I told them I'll go home at 10."
"Do you have any plans for the weekend?" Naomi says suddenly.
Layla rarely goes out. She knows that her friend knew the answer. Naomi just wants to hear Layla say it out loud.
"No."
"Perfect! I planned a shopping session for us! Are you coming?"
Naomi crosses her fingers and tries to have a persuasive expression. But her tentative only makes Layla laugh.
"Sorry Nao, I have homework! And I have to work. Another time."
"If you say so... call me if you change your mind!"
Naomi helps Layla putting everything in her backpack. With some books in her arms, Layla follows her friend in her car. Tomorrow, she has classes at the campus. If she wants to graduate from university, she has to work hard. So no time to have fun now.
