Setting off on his bicycle for the second time of the day he's on a journey to his secret hideaway. The cool breeze blew through his hair as he peddled along the way. As he neared his thinking place as he referred to it, the familiar rugged road came into view. The smell of the sea water as it beats on the shoreline could be heard from a distance away. The seagulls cried as if they were feeling the pain buried deep inside him.

Finally he reached his destination, dropping his bike and racing to his secret hideaway. As he ran as though his life depended on it, the cave came into sight.

Looking closely no-one would ever notice a hidden cave. Entering the cave, big piles of sediment rocks sat with algae growing on them with sea snails, sea beefs and urchins crawling about. It was dark and mysterious with bats hanging around
upside down. Walking on the swampy looking water because of the dead seaweed, he took a seat at the far back on this lonely rock.

Frustrated of getting abused by his father and no-one knowing about it, tears immediately started streaming down his face. He was so angry at the world that he pulled at his hair in frustration and threw rocks at the wall. He thought back about the reason why he
was there, the only reason why he always went to his special place. It was to get away from the world and all the pain it brings with it.

The ache was excruciating as he thought about the daily beaten he would receive from his father. His father was a brutal man behind closed doors. It all started
because of the death of his mother, a wonderful lady, who his father blamed her
passing on him. No-one understood, no-one cared, and worst of all no-one knew about the trench like scars scattered on his body. He had no-one to love him and
share his distress with, it was just him against the world, if he was to go who
would care enough to find him.

Thinking about all this, he made up his mind that it wasn't worth it, it's been ten years. Ten years with him just being him without anyone. What's there to life when you're all alone and there's no way out?Standing to his feet he walked out of the cave and took one last look at the one place he could call home. He inhaled the raw smell of excretion the animals left to mix within the air. He turned around and walked straight into the sea holding his breath and once in he let it go. Bubbles rose to the horizon. He let go of breath, life and mostly all his pain.

Paul was a sixteen year old lonely boy with no-one, no-love, just pain and hurt with a secret hideaway but now he was free, for he was gone not for a while but forever.
