Cursed Garden

Starting out

I was walking around my new apartment trying to unpack the thousands of boxes of books laying all over my floor. Let me tell you I've tripped over them many times. I've just moved to Magnolia. It's such a big town compared to what I'm use too. There was even a guild here as well. Fairytale. It has so many diverse wizards. Not to mention I hear they're really famous. With plenty of jobs and that's what I'm looking for. I'm running pretty low on jewel. The only reason I'm joining and settling down here for awhile. Than I'll be on my way again like always. Just when I was about to grab a giant book on my shelf a knock on the door drew my attention. As I turned I accidentally took then book with me and went crashing down to the floor with a loud thud. The person knocking opened the door then probably concerned for my safety.     
                     "Ms! Are you alright?"

I looked up to a red haired women in knights armor. She had a scary look to her like she could knock over several mountains.

"Oh uhm... Yes I'm fine thank you. Just dropped a really heavy book. I was trying to put up."

I watched as she carefully stepped around my maze of books. She had an amazed look on her face. I couldn't help but smile watching her try not to fall on her face too.

" I'm sorry about the mess. I just moved in and I'm still trying to put stuff up."

She shook her head and smiled.
    
" No I'm sorry for barging in but some delivery men stopped by my apartment and dropped off this box with your apartment number on it. I just wanted to return it and heard a crash. I was afraid something bad had happened."

I nodded and moved some books off my tiny love seat to make room for her to sit.
   
"Would you like to sit down?".  
    I motioned to the love seat. She looked over and made her way to it.

As she sat down I moved to my kitchen. And grabbed my kettle. I wonder what kind of tea she likes. Eh oh well she's in my place. So she'll just have to drink what I like.

"Do you like Jasmine tea? It's all I have for the moment."
           "Oh yes Jasmine tea is just fine. This is quite a collection you have here. I'm guessing you really enjoy reading. And some of them look quite old."

I looked around and smiled yes. My books are my only really companions. They let me escape into a happier world.

" Yes. I'm an avid collector. I have a lot of very old books. Some of them are even a couple of thousand years old.  I can't count how many times I've read all if them."

I smiled at the mystery girl. Than I opened my eyes wide how rude of me I still haven't introduced myself.

"Is something wrong Ms?"
I shook my head and held out my hand with a smile.

"I'm Levy Mcgarden. I completely forgot to introduce myself I'm so rude. It's been awhile since I've had company. Please excuse me."

She shook my hand and chuckled.

"I'm Erza Scarlet. It's nice to meet you Levy. I live three rooms down the hall. I'm not sure how the delivery men got our apartments mixed up. Considering your rooms 27 and mines 30."

I laughed who knows but at least I got it back. One of my favorite books is in that box.

"I'm a wizard of fairytale. I heard you joined yesterday. And I heard a new tenant had just moved in and I thought it would be you. You have word magic right?"

I shook my head yes. And looked down. She's asking too many questions. Time for her to go. Just as I was about to make up some silly excuse for her to go she put down her empty cup and stood up.

"Thank you for the kindness Ms. Levy. It was quite an honor. I hope to see you at the guild sometime. But I'm afraid I must go I have business to attend to. See you later."

"Oh. It was no problem at all than you again for bringing the box to me. I hope to see you around too Ms. Scarlet."

She smiled and left. Whew I was starting to get uncomfortable. I forgot what being in such a big city was like it's been so long...... I've been secluded for so many years I forget what it was like to have neighbor's. Remember Levy you're doing this for the jewel than back to the loneliness..... Ever since I was born I've practically been alone. My father abandoned my mother and I when he found out about our families curse. I remember being very young at the time. Maybe 5 or 6. He yelled at her for keeping such a huge secret from him and said he was leaving for good. That was so long ago. And I've been running and hiding ever since Mom died because of me. Why....why am I like this.. I didn't ask for any of this.... I just want a normal life. With friends and family. Maybe even a boyfriend one day. But that'll never happen. Guess I can dream right..

I put up the rest of my stuff and headed for stairs to get the rest of my boxes. Here lately a dark feeling as been looking over me. No matter where I go here lately I feel like some one's watching me. As I made my way back up I caught a glimpse of something moving out the corner of my eye when I went to look nothing was there. I quickened my pace and got to my door I opened it and flung it shut locking it hastily. I've become so paranoid here lately. By the time I was done putting everything up it was two o'clock in the morning. I stretched my tired body and trudged to bed.

"Mommy wait for me please!"

I couldn't keep up I was running as fast as I could but nothing got me any closer to her.

"Mommy wait!!!"

And then she was gone and the darkness surrounded me completely. No.. no. It's too dark I'm scared. A light in need a light.

"Mommy I'm scared come back!"

Emptiness. Only black.

"That's good child. Darkness and fear are your friends don't fight them. They only want to help you."

I wouldn't open my eyes. I squeezed then shut as hard as I could if I can't see it, it's not there.

"Come on Levy join me. We'll conquer the world together. For Lord Zeref he'll be so pleased. I bet he'll even bring your mommy back."

I opened my eyes then and turned around. A small light was in the middle of the room with someone lying underneath it. I ran over as fast as I could. When I stopped in my track. Blood so much blood was all over every where covering the body it was faced away from me. I slowly approached it. When I was close enough to touch it I rolled it over it was my mommy with no eyes and her throat was open leaking blood everywhere. I screamed.

"NO!!!!!!!!! MOMMY PLEASE GET UP!!!! PLEASE I NEED YOU. MOMMY!!!!"

I fell over her body sobbing. Not her. Any one else but her she all I have. I need her. She's the only one who loves me. Mommy.. mommy... Mommy.
Suddenly it was hard to breath. I opened my eyes and my mom had her hands around my throat. Facing me with no eyes, but empty bloody pools. I started choking. I struggle to get free. But I couldn't grip her blood soaked hands.

"Mommy.... PL.. please stop. I can't breath..."

She only laughed and squeezed harder. My vision was turning white. My movement's became slower and I could no longer control my limbs. She let me go but I still couldn't breath.

"But whhyyy..."

She looked down and smiled at me.

"Because you betrayed Lord Zerefs love. And now he can eat your pathetic soul you useless worm."

She than started to blur and turned into something else s demon with no face and fingernails that had needles pushed through them. I wanted to scream but I couldn't.

"Don't worry child this won't hurt a bit."

I woke up screaming and covered in sweat. I turned by light on and searched the room. All my familiar things were in it. I got up and went to the bathroom. I turned on the shower and let the scalding hot water hit me. There was no way I was going back to sleep tonight.
