It still shocked me every time. The cuts were gone. There was a single thin silvery line that ran the length of my arm but it wasn't obvious unless you looked for it.

Running my fingertips across the skin I released a sigh that I had managed to contain most the day. Stepping onto the elliptical, I ran until I heard my father calling me to dinner. I took a quick shower and headed downstairs.

Dorinda was my dad's girlfriend and frequently joined us for dinner. My mother died when I was eight and it took my dad years to get over it. Finding Dorinda was probably one of the best things that happened to him since then.

"Dorinda!" I greeted the peppy blonde with a grin and a light hug.

"Azarae!" She returned the hug, giggling as if she and I were long lost friends. "How are you darling?"

I draped my hand dramatically across my forehead. "Positively famished dear and how are you?"

"Absolutely wonderful." She replied, mimicking my gesture and setting me off on a fit of laughter. At that moment my father entered the dining room carrying a large serving platter piled high with delicious veggies. He took in our state and determining the situation 'guy safe' took a step towards us.

"What's so funny ladies?"

"Oh nothing love. We were just talking about how starved we were and how amazing the food smells." Dorinda winked at me causing me to dissolve in yet another fit of giggling.

"Oh is that so?" Removing his arm from around her, my dad gave Dorinda a sideways glance and crept slowly towards me. "There Azarae goes again! Laughing at nothing! I just don't understand teenagers at all..." He lunged at me. I shrieked and ran around the table with my father chasing me. He finally caught me about the third lap around and pinned me. He tickled me until we could no longer contain our laughter then helped us into our seats.

Dinner flew by and by nine o'clock we had already finished our blueberry pie. Dad was cracking jokes and us girls were laughing nothing seemed like it could penetrate our happy mood.

Knock knock! "Azarae!?!" Knock knock! "Griffin!?! Its Laoila. Open the door."Shit that's right! Helios...... My father flew to open the door.

"Laoila? What on earth!?" She ignored him until she saw me. The look she gave me was so hard it filled me with a sense of dread.

I stumbled. Catching myself on the railing I half whispered "Laoila? Helios?" My father went pale at the name.

"He's remembering." My world went black.
