NOTE: The sentences in italic and bold are in broken English which I have interpreted at the end of the chapter. Happy reading.

The rain kept pouring heavily on the earth. The gutters were full with water which was already flooding the roads making almost impossible for pedestrians to walk. Even, commercial motorcyclist with their passengers could not move in the flood.
Some had to drop their passengers and push their motorcycles in the rain. She walked with difficulty in the rain. Work was tiring and now she had to cope with this heavy down pour.
"Thank God I took this umbrella along," she muttered to herself.
Earlier that day, Bukky had woken up with cough and cold. It was the raining season, so it was normal for her to have cough and cold.
She got up from her bed and went into the bathroom to relieve herself from the pressure building up in her bladder before it exploded.
While in the toilet, her mum had begun the early morning prayers in the sitting room.
She did not need to call anyone before they come out because once they heard her voice they all must come out. Bukky quickly used the toilet and went to the sitting room.
Her mum and younger brother were already there except of course, her father who was not born again.
Her mum had tried preaching to him several times but he had paid deaf ears. He was a chain smoker and alcoholic. Her mum had been patient with him for the past thirty-six years of their marriage.
They met while they were at the university. She was pregnant for him while in 200-level while he was in his final year.
Abortion was not an option, so immediately he graduated, he got married to her and they had their first child, a boy.
Later along the line, her mum got born again but her dad refused to give his life to Christ stating that he has a happy family.
They lived in a three bedroom flat in Abuja it was a beautiful bungalow in one of the developing areas of Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria.
The house contained a living room, a dining room, three bedrooms that had its own toilet, a visitor's toilet, a laundry room, the kitchen and the store. Her dad had bought the house a long time ago while she was in primary school.
"Samuel start the prayers," Bukky's mum Ronke said as she finished the worship song they were singing.
Samuel was the last child and son of the Adejumo's. He was also the one that had an English Christian name as his first name because he was born at the time Ronke gave her life to Christ.
The remaining three had their Yoruba names as their first names. Ayo, Yinka and Bukky were the names of the first, second and third children respectively.
As soon as Samuel finished the prayers, Ronke started reading a portion of the bible .and encouraged them. That was how Bukky's mornings were except the cough and cold she had woken up with.
Bukky was a banker that worked with Eminence bank plc. one of the thriving banks in Nigeria and Africa. She worked at the customer service section.
It was not an easy job as she met different people with different personalities every day. The impatient ones, the rude ones, the ones that are always confused, the pompous ones, the kind ones and the ones that always complained.
As she entered the bank, she had an umbrella in one hand and her bag in another. She greeted the security and went to her duty post. It was seven in the morning and her supervisor was already waiting for her at her desk.
