In the Eyes of Death

I stare into the dark cold eyes of death

She caresses my cheek with her cold hand

I start to shiver from her icy breath

I closed my eyes and imagined soft sand

She tenderly placed a kiss on my cheek

It was no use fighting her peaceful curse

She smiled as I began to grow weak

I felt like floating in the universe

All my energy was slipping away

Her job with me was almost completed

As I closed my eyes I began to pray

To where by thy God I would be greeted

As my journey of life comes to an end

I smile at death herself, my new friend
