The farthest I can get

I know this sounds silly pero biglang nag replay sa isip ko ang kantang I love you na kinanta namin noon ni Nash sa GB noong mga bata pa kami. Sa murang edad ko na yun, napagtanto ko na gusto ko ang trabaho ko bilang artista. Masaya ako lalo na dahil masaya rin ako sa mga kasamahan ko. Lalo na kay Nash. Halos magkapatid na ang turingan namin noon. Our parents were just as close as we were. Ang saya lang ng mga panahon na iyon. Nakaka-miss. Oh don't judge me, alam kong naranasan niyo na rin na for once in your life, you feel like mayroon talagang kulang kahit mukhang nasa iyo na ang lahat.

"Beshie huy! Okay ka lang?" Kinalabit ako ni Miles ng malakas dahilan kung bakit nagising ako sa aking munting panaginip. Nakalimutan ko na yata na kumakain pala kami ngayon ni Beshie kasama sina Andre, Aaron at CJ. Sinundo kasi nila ako kanina pagkatapos ng shoot ko sa MYX.

"Sorry beshie, may iniisip lang." pasimple kong sagot.

"Shar, kung talagang hindi kayo para sa isa't isa, I will willingly give myself to you. Ako nalang magiging boyfriend mo." Sabi ni Andre sabay akbay sa akin.

"Buti pa nga." I answered and then rested my head on his shoulder.

Sabay na lamang kaming napatawa. Kita ko ang lungkot ni Miles, Aaron at CJ sa kanilang mga mata. I hate this. Kinakaawaan ako ng mga kaibigan ko. And then I suddenly remembered my agreement with Jairus which I think they should know about.

"Guys, Jairus told me he and I will make Nash jealous. And I promised him that when I see no sign of Nash, then I will open up my heart to him." Bigla kong sabi ng nakayuko, not wanting to see their reactions.

"That's stupid!" – Miles

"Ayos yan!" – CG

"Sounds lame!" -Aaron

"Sigurado ba kayo dyan?" – Andre

Kanya-kanya sila ng reaksyon. Sabi ko na e.

"Shar, you're making it hard for yourself." Tugon ni Andre

"I'm fine with that, Shar. At least malalaman mo kung meron ba talaga siyang amor sa iyo." Ngiting sabi ni CG.

"Beshie, no. Masasaktan ka lang. Masasaktan lang din si Jairus." Seryoso namang sabi ni Miles.

Beshie has a point. But, CG has too, and Andre too. Natahimik nalang ako't napaisip sa nagawa kong desisyon.

"Guys! Nandito lang pala kayo." A manly voice suddenly roared up my ears. That jerk is here. Fuck!

I tried to keep a good composure when I heard that voice. Damn! Para siyang kabute na kung saan-saan nalang sumusulpot.

"We tried to call all of you but no one answered." An irritating voice added up. Alexa.

"Sorry guys. We were having too much fun kasi." Miles saved us.

"Oh Shar, congrats nga pala sa upcoming movie niyo ni Nash. I'm sure you'll do just fine." Sabi ni Alexa na tila binalewala lang ang sagot ni Miles. I swear I saw beshie glared.

"I'm a lot sure she's gonna do great. That's what she is!" Miles proudly said.

"Thanks Lex and Beshie. Let's cut the showbiz vibes and focus on our food, shall we? Nash, Lex, join us nalang." I looked at everybody with my most beautiful smile. Well, this isn't the most but at least it's the farthest I can give as of this moment.

"We'd love to. Right, Nashie?" Alexa twinkled her barbie-like eyes and smiled at him.

I didn't sound disgusting when I called Nash like that. Tss.

"Sure!" Nash gladly replied.

I suddenly regret saying all those things. I wanted Nash to get out of my sight, at least far from me. Kumikirot uli ang puso ko. Ano ba, Shar!

The eating session went on like nothing happened. Masayang nagchikahan ang mga boys habang kami ni Miles ay nagtitiis sa mapagpanggap na ngiti na ipinapakita namin kay Alexa. She's saying too much. Mukhang mas bagay siya mag VJ kesa sakin. Ang daldal. Hindi siya mawalan-walan ng topic. Ito ba ang gusto ni Nash sa kanya? Madaldal din naman sana ako ah. She's pretty, yes, prettier than me. She's talented. She's sweet. She's everything I am not. Oh God! Why am I thinking all these things. I'm Sharlene San Pedro for effin sake.
