Chapter 3

"You must be pretty stupid to think that you would get away with this" he raises a fist and punches Oliver in the spot Belle had punched him. Max lets go of him and he falls to the ground, screaming in pain.

"My face! My face! You motherfucker that hurt! My beautiful face!" He wails loudly, causing everyone to look at the scene we've created. I run over to Belle.

"Belle, are you ok?" I ask her, looking her in the eyes.

"I'm fine, he isn't" she chuckles as she looks at the wailing boy, rolling on the ground.

"I'll get you for this! My revenge will definitely be savage now!" He continues to babble out loudly. Several security guards come running to the scene, looking at the two crying boys.

"Are you Belle Faye and Max Garvin?" The one security guard asks from behind us.

"Yes we are, do you have a problem?" Max says with clear anger in his voice.

"Well you two are coming with me to the office and explain why you caused all of this" he says with a hard look on his face.

"Come on babe, you're ok now" he says quietly, intertwinning their hands and places a kiss on her head as they walk together to the office. Wheelchairs are brought out for Daniel and Oliver by the nurses. As they're wheeled away, Dylan stands there, glaring at me. I feel fear shoot through my body and I begin to walk away, not before running into someone.

"I'm sorry-" I begin to mumble an apology before realizing who it was. Corey, once again. This is getting old, I need to pay more attention to where I'm going.

"What...happened?" He asks quietly looking into my eyes with his emerald eyes.

"It's a long story, a real long story" I respond, looking down on him. Wow, this kid is short. Why did it take me this long to realize it?

"Is everything ok?" He asks quietly again, looking at the glaring Dylan behind me.

"I don't know.." He nods his head in response. "Well, I'm off to first period. See you in third period!" I begin to walk away, not even waiting for a response from him.

The bell to end second period had just rung and I begin to walk to third period. My walk there would be more relaxing considering Oliver and Daniel had to go home, but it's hard to think straight with everyone staring you down and whispering to one another about the fight that happened. I finally arrive and enter the room filled with rambuncius seniors.

"Ok everyone please quiet down! Class is starting!" Mr.Marks bellows to the class and everyone quiets down. I look around the room to see if Belle had made it out of the office. I guess not. After looking around a bit more, I spot Corey for the first time in this class besides the other day. His head was very close to the desk, as if he was doing something in the notebook in front of him. I wonder what he could be doing in there?

Mr.Marks walks over to his desk and grabs a piece of paper, then walking back to the front. "As you may know, we're going to be doing a project for this story. I finally came up with the idea that I would pair you up with each other and I'll assign a scene that you will preform in front of the class."

Everyone looks at each other in happiness, hoping to be paired up with their friends.

"Alright, first Claire and Nick will do the scene between Helena and Demetrius, and Zelda and Corey will do the love scene between Lysander and Hermia," with that being said I look over at Corey who's face looks blank. Mr.Marks finally finishes reading off the names on his piece of paper and allows everyone to go to their partners.

I walk over to Corey while dragging a chair along with me to sit next to him.

"So, are you ready to do this?" I say happily. Before looking up at me he huffs out a breath.

"Yea, let's do this."

"Everything ok?"

"Yea, I'm just not one for speaking in front of the class if you haven't guessed" he responds quietly.

"Hey it'll be ok! We're partners so you won't be alone" I try to comfort him. He gives me an odd look before I stand up and grab two books.

"So what scene are we again?"

"We have the love scene between Hermia and Lysander-"

"Oh not that scene" he blurts out in annoyance.

"Wait what do you mean?"

"I've read this play before. We have the scene where Hermia and Lysander kiss..." He almost whispers out, seeing his cheeks flush.

"Well I'm sure we can find a way around it-" before I could finish my sentence the bell cuts off my words. He quickly stands up to put his book. "Wait! We should practice this outside of school."

"So you mean take the books home and one of us goes to the others house and practice?" He asks giving me another weird look.

"Um yea, everyone else is doing it" I give him the attitude tone. He looks at me with shock, almost as if he was appalled.

"Uh yea, sure, that's fine by me."

"Great! Write down your address," I hand him a notebook and pen. He quickly scribbles down on the paper then grabs his books.

"See you after school I'm guessing?"

"You know it!" And he left the class immediately. I went to leave as well before Mr.Marks stopped me.

"Zelda can I please discuss something with you for a second?" I turn around and walk over to his desk, seeing him lean back in his chair casually.

"What do you need Mr.Marks?" I ask curiously.

"I just wanted to ask you if you are still comfortable with doing the love scene with Corey, since you will have to kiss him" he tells me, putting emphasis on the word kiss.

"Yea that's fine by me. I don't see why it would be a problem," I then see something in his eyes twinkle and his body tenses a bit.

"If you're sure-"

"I'm positive Mr.Marks" I try to assure him. The twinkle in his eyes deepen and I start to feel uncomfortable. "Um, Mr.Marks, I have to leave now. Could you write me a pass?"

"Oh my apologies for you keeping you so long." He opens one of the drawers on his desk and takes out a piece of paper, scribbling words on it. "There you go sweetie," he says in a soft voice as he hands the paper to me.

I nod my head as a thank you to him and I walk out of the class, having the bell ring. As I turn out of the classroom, taking a quick glance at Mr.Marks, seeing him staring at me with the same glimmer in his eyes.

A shiver runs down my body as I begin to walk more quickly to my class, still feeling the sense of dread and a bit of fear in me.
