"Hey, Samantha!" Brittany shouted. Her victim didn't answer back. "Samantha Sanders!"

Sam opened her locker. "What do you want this time?" She took out her binders in a hurry.

"What do you want this time?" Brittany said mockingly. "You never know what you did."

"How about you actually tell me?" Samantha slammed her locker. "Maybe if you think you're smarter than me, you should try doing that."

"Well, do you think you can get away with taking my book?"

"Your book. Sure..."

"You think I'm lying?"

"Since when did you read? And why do you always blame me?"

Brittany groaned. "You, like, stepped on my shoe a lot in sixth grade—"

"It's just a shoe."

"—and you took my iPhone..."

Samantha stuffed her belongings into her backpack. "What? I don't like iPhones. They suck."

"That's what exactly an iPhone thief would say!"

"What if I actually thought Samsung Galaxy was better?"

"Why won't you admit you stole my iPhone 8?"

"Why do you waste time blaming—"

"You stepped on my shoe, you stole my phone, you stole my money for the snack cart..." Brittany snapped her fingers, trying to figure out her list.

Samantha failed to not laugh. "Do you even have any proof that I did any of that? Besides stepping on your shoe, don't you think someone else is responsible... like Ricky Wilson? He's a big troublemaker just like he was in elementary school."

"I saw you use my phone when you were getting on the bus!"

"Do you just automatically think that whoever has a white case on their phone has your phone?"

"Who wouldn't if her phone was lost? It could be pretty much anybody who has my phone!"

Sam sighed. "Quit whining about your precious iPhone X—"

"iPhone 8." Brittany corrected.

"—and actually find it. Blaming people or using others as scapegoats is useless, just like you, Brittany."

Brittany gasped. "W-well, I actually have friends!"

"Well, I actually have good friends."

"Umm, how can you prove that?"

"Do you have any proof that you have good friends?"

"Duh! They like me."

"Who says 'duh' anymore?"

"Who doesn't?"

"Brittany, the only time I've ever heard someone say that word is just now. Honestly, I think you should stop acting like you're better than everybody else."

"No, I don't!"

"Are you just here to waste my time? I have homework from last night!" Samantha finally zipped her backpack.

"You waste my time by causing my problems!"

"I don't think I've caused any of your problems lately."

"Well, where's my book?"

"It's not that hard to buy it again."

"But I want my original copy back! My friend gave it to me! You probably have it!"

"What makes you think I have your book?"

"Well, uh..."

"Wow, you're more stupid than me."

"I'm not! I just know you stole my book."

"I haven't stolen anything my entire life!"

"I don't know anybody else who would steal! You stole my money, so why wouldn't it be you?"

"I never bring money for the snacks."

A teacher looked at the arguing girls. "Girls, get to class. This isn't a time to hang out with friends."

"We're not friends!" Brittany said. "Why do people believe that?"
