Immediately, light poured out of my wand, and a flock of doves appearred- my patronum. The crowd gasped. "You likey the show?" I asked.
Big guy just frowned.
"What are your names?" I asked abrutly.
"And why should we tell you that?" Max asked, showing her colors as one of the leaders for their little group, with her protectiveness.
"Because it's the only way for you to get into camp, so we know that your not monst-" I paused. Uh... I didn't think that one through. "Actually, I don't know your not monsters, so no. You can't get in."
I sat down. "We're going to chat, right here, right now."
The guy frowned. "Why should we do that?"
"Becuase, if you didn't want to, you'd be gone by now, and if you don't, now," I took out my phone and snapped a photo, "You'd still have to stay, or I'd post this everywhere and expose you."
One of the other guys laughed. He seemed about the same age as the big guy and Max, but had more of a childish arua around him. "You won't have to worry about that. That guy over there, has a blog all about us. He's crazy, but he does have one. Basically everyone has seen it- if their cool enough to know about it."
I smirked. "It's a really good thing that recentely I've been living in England, without electronics, or I would have already smacked that smile off your face for calling me uncool- because I haven't seen this so called 'amazing' blog yet." I said.
He stepped back, but never lost his confident smile. I just realized something though. His eyes were pointed in a direction close to me, but it was almost like he was staring at something a little away from my left ear. I squinted, and gasped silently as I saw his milky white eyes. He was blind.
"What did you want to know?" Max asked me.
"Uh, actually, I was wondering if you left a guy named Coles house tonight..."
She laughed, then her face turned serious. "Why? You're not going to hunt him down, are you?"
She had sounded nervous, like that had happened before. I shuddered. "No, I have been friends with Cole for forever. In fact... yeah never mind. That would just make me sound pathertic."
"What would?" Max asked.
"Uh, Cole was my... only friend for the past five years...." The big guy laughed. How rude! I yelled loudly in my head.
I heard a wince, and looked and saw a little girl, about the age of eight, holding her head. She looked up and smiled sadly at me. "He isn't always rude," she said quietly. "Only to new people he's scared of being dangerous. Just.. please don't think that loudly. It hurts."
"MY thoughts, hurt?" I asked.
"Loud ones, yes." The little girl said. "I'm Angel... and I can read minds."
I smiled. 'How cute!' She blushed.
Max turned to her, as if she was asking a question, mentally. I guess she could actually do that. SO cool!
"Tira's pure." Angel whispered to Max. "She isn't bad, I can tell."
Max turned, gave me a once over and nodded. "Alright then. Flock, meet a new friend."
I smiled, and waved. A little blond boy, that looked twelve years old smiled and waved back at me.
Little did I know, while this was all going on, a harpy saw me talking to unifdentified winged creatures, and reported a spy to Chiron, yet not comepletely saying what she saw, just that we were over by the woods.
Max then decided to started the introductions.
"This, is Iggy," She motioned to the blond blind boy, who had a protective arm wrapped around Ella's waist, and his wings out at the ready. He gave me a half smile.
"And then, Angel, but she kind of introduced herself already." I nodded, at the eight year old blondie. Still so cute. She returned my smile.
"Next is the Gasman. Don't ask how he got his name, but here's a warning: never pull his finger. He will blow up your nose." I nodded, warily to the Gasman, the little kid that had smiled at me earlier. What kind of name is the Gasman?
"Up here," Max continued, pointing to a beautiful African American girl, "Is Nudge."
I smiled.
"And last, is Fang. Warning, he's not very talkative, and has anger issues." So the big guy has a name, Fang.
They all have strange names.
"What are you doing in New York?" I asked.
Max's smiling features grew clouded, and secretive.
"Nevermind," I said. No need to get on her bad side already.
"It's okay," little Angel said, "We've been through alot, and don't like to give inforamtion out freely to others, and especaily not to those we just met. And can you please stop calling me little in your thoughts? It's kind of discriminating."
I nodded. "Sorry Ang-" I got cut off by a cry of war. Spinning around, I saw the half the camps campers, dressed in an array of armor and pajamas. What was going on?! I heard a flap of air, and spun around to see the Flock hovering in the air. Max took off, with everyone behind her. Angel was the last to go.
"Bye," she whispered. "I know them coming wasn't your fault. I'll try to prove it to them."
And then she flew off.
I also realized, right then and there, that she was one of the ones who Astoria turned into when she was getting the Harry Potter book off of the shelf, and something told me, that it wasn't the last time I'd every see them again.
And that I was about to get run threw by the entire camps military forces.
