The Sleepover Part II

Start from the beginning

Bill took the radio into his hands and raised the antenna up high before turning the volume all the way up. "Any specific c-channel?"

"Hm. Surprise me." Joan said.

As Bill finished his question, his head shot up. "Oh, I forgot my g-glass and the wine b-bottle in the garage!" He said as he got up, putting the radio down and rushing towards the ladder. "I'll be back."

"Woah, be careful!" Joan had said to Bill.

Beverly nodded at what Joan said. “Yeah, don’t fall!”

Bill laughed and said, "Alright." He then started getting on the ladder and going down. Once he got to the bottom, he ran towards the garage and entered, grabbing his and Joans glass, along with the bottle. He didn't know how he'd carry it all, but he still went on. Bill ran out of the garage, being careful so he wouldn't drop anything, and went back to the ladder.

While Bill was away, Joan figured it would be a good time to give Beverly a pep talk.

"Ready to make a move?" Joan asked Beverly.

Beverly looked at Joan, blushing in embarrassment. She knew it was a good time to make a move with Bill. “Yeah, it’s a good setting right now so I’ll make a move."

Joan squealed and hugged Beverly.

Beverly hugged Joan back. "Do you like anyone?”

Joan paused. "Honestly, I haven't given my own love life much thought."

“Oh, well, I guess you’ll find someone." Beverly said.

Joan shrugged. "Whatever...I mean, everyone else in this town are assholes other than you guys. Not even gonna think about Richie or Eddie for reasons I'm sure you know."

“Yeah, they are assholes, but I know in the future someone nice will want to be with you.” Beverly said, winking at Joan, then smiling.

Joan couldn't help but smile a little, but it quickly faded away. "Well, there was someone..."

“Oh, what happened?” Beverly asked.

Joan laid back down. "Oh...they moved away not too long ago."

Beverly looked up at the sky and looked back at Joan as she said, “Aw, that must have been hard. I’m sorry to hear that.”

"No, it's okay. I didn't really know them that much, anyways. But maybe I'll see them again."

Joan sighed and looked up at the stars, a small smile returning to her face when she started recognizing a few constellations.

Bill found out a way to bring everything up the ladder without dropping anything or without him falling off and got onto the roof with Beverly and Joan. "Hey, g-guys."

Joan got up and moved so Bill could be beside Beverly.

Beverly saw Bill come back on the roof with the stuff. “Hey, Bill. Can I tell you something?” She asked him, nervously.

Joan pretended not to listen to what Beverly said.

Beverly waited for Bill to answer her question. She played with her fingers to kill some time.

Bill set the items he was holding down on a blanket and sat Joan's glass next to her, all before he sat in the middle of Joan and Beverly; closer to Beverly's side. He looked over at Beverly. "Y-yeah."

Beverly turned her eyes away from her playing with her fingers and looked at Bill. She started blushing, trying to hide it as she said nervously, “Well, um. Bill, I like...you.”
