"Every life has its right to live" my father always said that to me. It's obvious because no religion justifies killing unless it's a justified kill. My Life had always been so simple till then. I was a teenager from a very poor family. My academic records were promising, thanks to my photographic memory. I was slim in a figure and my parents were idols to me. Not a day had come when my father had to raise his voice on me and not a day had come when I made my mother cry. Life was eventually brilliant even though we couldn't afford most of the facilities a middle-class family would.

I never complained the way my life had gone, because I had my parents behind me. I felt so lucky because I knew there were people who couldn't afford this happiness. In school, I was bullied constantly through rich kids, but I never mind them. I always waited for that moment when they would be my friends. I never expected anyone to make my life easier, I rather just made my life easier.

One day the Principal called me "Alan, the University of Royal, London has given you a scholarship. Well I know you can't afford the expenses in London so I pushed my son to continue in your place. I hope you don't mind." he said. "I am happy for him." I lied. "But they want you, not my son. So you have an interview tomorrow night. Prepare for it and good luck." the Principal said that without feelings. Well, I didn't mind his disappointment. He was a father after all.

I knew London dreams are just too much to be handled by me. My parent's entire income was not even equal to a monthly expense in London. I went home and said that to my Parents, they were very happy and very gloomy at the same time. I saw that hunger in their eyes which asked for my happiness and nothing else. My father was a very religious man, I saw him pray the entire night for me. It reminded me of the feelings about how lucky I am. But still, I prepared for the interview knowing what was coming.

THE INTERVIEW

Person 1: "What is life?"

Me: "Life has no meaning unless you give it a meaning. For every single one of us in this room has a different meaning for life."

Person 2: "If you have a business and you need profit no matter what, what will be your first action?"

Me: "Honesty is the best policy, I will be honest with customers, and you see customers these days are fed up of the companies exaggerating themselves. I will be honest about my products, if I can't give them quality stuff I won't brag about it, and if you are going to ask about business tactic well then that is the reason you are going to teach me in your university."

Person 3: "Boy you look confident. You think you can win with us?"

Me: "Sir I don't even dare to think that. You are much older than me, much wiser than me and you have seen the world better than me. Well, there is a reason you are on the other side of the table and I am being interviewed."

Person 2: "Can you afford life in London?"

Me: "No"

Person 3: "But we want you there."

Me: "Well If I can't afford London then I'm afraid I have no means to be there. Reality might be harsh but I will respect your decision."

Person 1: "Will you come if we provide you with all the living expenses you need?"

Me: "Sorry sir, I didn't get you, sir."

Person 2: "Well pack your bag and take the tickets. You will be flying with us to London."

I was happier than ever and eager to tell them good news so, I raced home. But there was a horror waiting for me. As soon as I reached home, I saw the head of our home dog on the trash bag. My eyes were wide open as I followed the bloodlines. On the dining room, I found the dog's body. I couldn't breathe in disgust. I could hear my blood rushing through my brain. A single step ahead out of dinning I saw my mother's hand detached. A little glimpse on my father's body, it was shredded. My eyes went blank and I lost my senses.
