Alice

I get up and realise I've slept in. Apparently my parents and my little sister still haven't woken up... I check my alarm clock and it reads "9:12", I am definitely late for school. I run to my parents room but it's empty, a wave of panic traverses my body, had they gone outside without me? I go check my sisters room and see that it's quite as empty too. I start to really panic so I rush downstairs to check the living room. I am seriously sweating right now. When I walk in the kitchen I see my mom carrying my sister, she has her back to me. I feel instant relief.

-"Mom! Did you realise it's nine o'clock? I am going to be so late for school, plus I have a math test, like, third period."

Silence.

-"Mom?"

Silence.

I panic again and look in her face. When I look in her eyes I can't see my lively mom anymore. All I see is emptiness and fear. Her face is not showing any sign of life, it is just stuck. My little sister Lilly's face looks the same. I feel tears rushing. I scream their names a few times but they both do not seem to hear. My voice feels alone.

-"Mom! Lilly! Mom! Mom! Can you hear me?" my voice goes even more desperate with every single word. I cry and then I go outside and see many other people stuck, just like my family. In the emptiness I yell:

-"Is anyone there?"My voice echoes I look around me see a girl with dark hair and bright blue eyes and then I start sobbing. I fall on the floor and my eyes close.

Luna

I wake up and I am really excited, I am going to meet up with my best friends Rome and Hellen today. I do not want this excitement to fade away so I lay down on my bed and open my eyes after five minutes. I see my older sister, Tia, in the hallway and I run towards her. I want to scare her. But when I jump on her she doesn't scream or move. She just stayed on her place. Just like she has collapsed. I look in her face to see a blank face not saying anything. I do not know what to do. So I scream. I want to get help so I run downstairs. But I find my mom and dad have collapsed in the same way. I want to help them and without a second thought I get out of the house. And run in the empty streets. Everyone is collapsed. I run and run and run. Crying and yelling repeatedly. Finally I see a girl, my age. She is moving! I immediately stop sobbing and go near her. The second she sees me her bright green eyes, slowly close. Her light brown curls slowly fall on her face and she falls. In panic, I try helping her but I suddenly see a boy in really old looking clothes and blonde, messy, hair. I remember the boy, he was homeless and a few years younger then me. He rushes to help and we try to awaken the green eyed girl. When the boy asks my name I reply:

-"Luna." my voice is shaking of fear but I feel like I can trust these people. Not knowing why. My instincts are saying to me to trust them.

Alex

I wake up. Just like any other day I smell the disturbing aura of the only shelter I could find, an abandoned factory. Since I was 10 I had been living on the streets. My mom had disappeared and my dad wasn't even there when I was born. The state gave me to an orphanage, but I hated it there, and I ran away a few months later. I was scared and also was hungry. They found me once and I was stuck in the orphanage for a few more months. But I couldn't do it anymore, I just couldn't. So I ran away once again. I found shelter in a small town. Even though I am homeless, it is definitely better than being in that orphanage where you feel like no one will love you again. You are just constantly surrounded by people who are alone that it makes you self-conscious that you are alone.
