Preview Chapter

Do you know how it feels to be kidnapped then to escape and fend for yourself? I do. It started when I was 4. It was April 21, 2006 and me and my twin sister, Pinkunoai, were outside playing in our front yard. Our older brother, Demon, was at baseball practice and our dad went to watch while our mom was inside doing dishes. "Hang on sissy. I'm gonna go get a drink. Do you want one?" Pink had asked. I shook my head and sat down against the big oak tree near the fence that separates our yard from the neighbor's while she ran inside. I stared at the street and watched as a black van pulled up and stopped in front of our house. Something told me to get up and make a break for the front door. But instead I sat there and watched as two guys got out and quickly headed straight toward me. That was when I sprung up and headed for the front door. However, I was too slow and they caught me and dragged me to the van. I kicked and screamed but they covered my mouth before anyone could hear me and put me in the back of the van. They covered my mouth with a white damp rag and next thing I knew I was surrounded by darkness.

When I woke up I was in a dark room. I waited for my eyes to adjust before looking around. The first thing I noticed was that my hands and legs were chained to the wall behind me. The walls were a dark blue color and a big maroon colored door was just a few feet in front of me. There was also a small window about 4 feet above me that was painted black and I could fit through if I got on my belly. I started tugging at the chains when I heard voices coming from the other side of the door. Oh yeah did I mention that I'm a neko? My ears moved slightly so I could better hear them. "Should we go check if she's awake yet?" A man's voice asked. There was silence for a moment before another man's voice sounded. "Yeah she's up. I can hear her moving." He said. Suddenly the door opened making a slight scratching sound as it scraped against the floor. I flattened my ears on my head and tried not to grind my teeth at the sound. I looked up at the two men but nearly got blinded by the light that shown in from outside and instantly looked back down.
