Please read the rules before nominating other wise, your nominations may be invalid.

To all our Nigerian writers on wattpad, please do participate.

Our recommendations are simple and easy to follow.

Write a broadcast to your followers and updates on your book. Providing a link to this page is optimal. (We have found out that writing both increases your chances of qualifying!).

General rules:
To both participants on wattpad and twitter:

Books can be of any rating or genre below

Books must be your own, no copying (no excerpts)

Books must be written by a Nigerian, although a Non-Nigerian can nominate and vote.

No fights, dominance or intimidation over here.

Your book must be in English.

You book must have a Nigerian setting.

Nominations will only be accepted as inline comments (where you comment next to a line of text).

Any other nomination would be deleted/ignored.

To nominate some one all you have to do is comment their book and username next to the correct category. It is not necessary to tag the author's account, however, make sure the spelling of the username is correct.

For example:- 'best Nigerian short story' Days to new year by HelenIyamadiken

Please note team members cannot be nominated, the list is in our bio/profile.

YOU MUST STATE THE WRITERS USERNAME.

YOU MUST STATE THE BOOK NAME.

Please make sure that your comment is next to the correct category, ( note: by writing an inline comment).

SELF NOMINATION IS ALLOWED AND THE BOOK DOES NOT HAVE TO BE COMPLETE.

Always be active and always check for any updates at least twice a week.

add the tag #muteafrk #youngnigerianwritersawards to your story tags of your book.

Let us know if you changed your name or the genre of your book.

Before attempting to fill form make sure you have and your inline with the rules on ground.

We want as many nominations as possible so try to nominate some one for each category if you can.
You can only nominate each book once per category, but you can nominate more than that one book per category.

It is all about the number of individual from DIFFERENT users.
Remember do not nominate the same book per category twice or face being disqualified.

Follow our account @AfrikMute. Then post the cover of your book and tag us @AfrikMute and also with the hashtag #muteafrik #youngwritersnigerisaward

The top 10 books (the 10 most nominated books, based on statistics) from each category will qualify as finalists once nominations are complete.

Then voting will open.

Best of Nigerian Beginners - open (Any writer that has been on wattpad for less than 12months).

Best Nigerian 'Diverse' book - open (POC, Diverse lit, body posi, disabilities, illnesses, disorders, religion, and nationalities, plus essentially anything that are not commonly written about in wattpad literature).

Best Nigerian LGBT+ book - open (lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender).

Best of Nigerian Nigerian little - open (the next Nigerian big thing)
Any writer that has under 1000 (1k) followers. (State username only).

Best of Nigerian Mature story - open (18+ content)

Best of Nigerian New account - open (open to all account created 6months ago or less), from the 19th of may (between 19th of Jan to the 19th of may)

Best of Nigerian New story - open (open to all stories published 6 months ago or less ),  from the 19th of may (between 19th of Jan to the 19th of may)

Best Nigerian old timer - open (A user who has been on wattpad for the past 5 years or longer their Account must state. An Accumulation of 5years over 4 or less than 5years over different accounts doesn't count).

Best of Nigerian Overall account - open (just state the username)

Best of Nigerian Overall story - open

Best Nigerian Story plot - open

Best Nigerian series/trilogy/sequel - open (Name the title of the first book in the series. A series is composed of 3+ books. The 3rd book can be ongoing but the first two must be complete).

Best of Nigerian Undiscovered - open (Any book that has less than 100k reader if a book were to surpass this mark after the 19th of may, it will still be valid to compete).
