Once upon a time there lived a lonely wolf in the middle of the woods.
The wolf waited and waited for people to visit him but no one would.
Unknown to the wolf the villagers were terrified of him
For the people in the closest village heard the stories of the viscous wolf and how he killed anyone daring to step in his woods.
Now the villagers had no proof but they heard the howl of the monster every night.
But unfortunately what they heard was not the cry of a terrible beast, but a lonely serenade to heavens for help.
'Do not step into the woods for you will not return' the villagers told passing travelers. And every traveler obeyed the warning, because who would know better then the villagers.
On and on time passed and the wolf became sadder and sadder. More lonely as the seasons passed. Until one winter he decided 'If they do not want to come to me I shall come to them.'
And the wolf set out towards the village.
'Why don't we just kill it.'
The wolf stopped in his tracks outside the village.
'He has caused nothing but trouble for our village. People won't even come anymore because they're so scared' said another nameless villager.
As agreement rung about the crowd the wolf was shocked. He did absolutely nothing and they hated him. 'So much for friends' he thought
'Why am I even still here' he thought trotting back to his cave. 'Why do they hate me for simply existing.'
All the while the villagers where musing a play of attack against the wolf.
'I am the answer you seek and the hope you need' said a voice in the crowd.
As the villagers parted they were shocked to find a women short in stature but had a dangerous Ora surrounding her.
'You want the wolf gone, he shall be gone. But beware the consequences' she said. And in and instant she was gone.
Meanwhile the wolf continued to sulk and weep. All he wanted was someone to talk too but that was quickly becoming impossible.
'You weep for people who see you as a monster. Why?' came a voice at the entrance of his cave.
'I do not weep for them. I weep for myself.' the wolf said solemnly.
'Well she'd not a tear more. For I am the the answer you seek and the hope you need.' she recited. ' The heavens have heard your cry and they have sent me.'
'Who are you' the wolf asked in awe. 'I am castor. A messenger for the heavens' she said proudly
'And why do the heaven's care about me' the wolf asked unsure. He has cried for many moons and no one has answered.
'Because you will be the start of something great. Now onto the current problem. You are sad and lonely. I offer you a solution.' she said confidently
The wolf was wary. He did not believe the loud woman could solve his problems that easily.
'And how are you going to do that.' he asked skeptical. ' You shall travel with me and be my companion.' she said finally.
The wolf sputtered ' I can not possible my leave home' he said. This was the place he was born. He loved it here, even with his situation. He was a wolf. He could not walk around with humans. He seen how that would turn out.
'Why not, the villagers want you gone and you want a friend. I am the solution silly wolf. Come with me and we shall see the world.' she said
Her words were enticing but the wolf still hesitated.
' But I am a wolf, surely problems will arise.' he said softly.
'A simple fix to an easy problem.' And with a wave of her hand and a grin on her face the wolf changed into a young man.
' Now you are not human but you have the skin of a human. You can travel during the day and change at night' she said.
With a gleeful shout the wolf wrapped the castor in a huge hug and said with so much excitement 'Let's go'
"The end. Alright time for bed princess." Mama said closing the book and kissing my forehead.
"But mama what happened to the villagers. What were the consequences." I asked. Those stinky villagers deserved to be punished. Why were they so mean to the wolf? It wasn't fair at all.
"Tomorrow my little castor. Sleep now." She said turning on my night light.
"I am the answer you seek" she smiled at the door. Waiting.
"And the hope you need." I smiled back.
Such an odd saying.
