"Are you even truly listening to me?" I asked. "Because you haven't answered in a long time."
He just shook his head and started to walk away. He was fast!
I stomped heavily behind him- which was hard to do in ballet flats (good thing I took them off, and chased after him.)
"Hey, Lewis?" I called. "You can stomp away and all..."
I paused catching my breath, then sprinted to catch back up with him. How did he get so far away?!
"But, ... I ... still... Ne-ee-d ... to *cue out of shape wheeze * ... Know ... Where ... I'm ... Slee-ee... Ee... Eeping."
I stopped and took a large breath. When I looked up, I gasped. Looking over me was the three story big house, my body deep in its shadows. How did I get here so fast?! I wasn't even in shape!
It will always be a mystery, because even to this day, I have no clue how I was able to move so quickly.
And I still lost Lewis. I had no clue where he went.
So I did the only rational thing someone would do. I went and knock on the screen door of the building. And opening it, was Mr. Brunner- Chiron- the human pony. (Centaur)
"Hey Chiron?" I said. "Can I sleep on your couch?"
Subtle. Very subtle. Right?
Chiron just laughed at that. "Did Mr. Lewis ditch you, too?"
"Yeah, he did ditch m- wait- what do you mean too?"
Chiron smiled. "He's our main camp tour guide. He doesn't fit in too well at his cabin, so when a new camper shows up, he gives them the tour. Although, the two of you did have a longer tour then most."
I nodded. I ... that didn't make the day feel as sweet any more. I sighed. Why was this bothering me so much?
It really shouldn't be.
I looked up at Chiron. "Chiron? Do you have a place I can sleep for the night?"
He nodded. "For the unclaimed campers, we normally put them in the Hermes cabin until their claimed. But your sixteen, not thirteen and should be claimed by now."
"Claimed?" I asked.
"Yes, that is when a god tells us that you are their child."
I nodded. "Why the age of thirteen?"
"Thirteen was the bargaining age, when the gods have been asked to claim their children, before the monsters get to them." Chiron said. "So we are going to go inside and wait for you to be claimed. I bet you have a lot of questions, and now would be a good time as any to get them answered- well- I will answer as many questions as I can."
I smiled great fully. Finally, someone deems me ready to hold some answers! I hate being left in the dark about things. This day was going great!
I sat on the couch, and realized I was curious, but just curious. I had no questions on my mind. I need information to actually ask more about, and I think Chiron understood that- he seemed completely seemed to it.
After he had folded himself down into his wheelchair, he wheeled to sit by me, and he started to talk. "Demigods have a strange life. They are born from a god and a mortal. Basically any god can come down to Earth and mate with a mortal- except the select few like Artemis who is a maiden goddess, and Hades who has to come up from the underworld, instead of going down to Earth. But demigods- they're not- well, it's not just their blood that's unusual. They sometimes possess strange powers that they have inherited from their godly parents, and the more known, and the more powerful the parent, the stronger the powers, and the more they're hunted. Demigods give off this scent that make them smell different to monsters. You know every monster in the Greek myths?" He asked. I nodded. "Well, all the monsters are real- did you tell Annabeth you didn't want a lesson?"
I nodded, again. "I wanted a break."
"Well then, you're going to need to start training, harder, if your dreams are to be your breaks. These monsters, that you should know about, curse the gods. They blame the gods for their deaths, and now they are angered. They're now alive again, and they want to avenge their unjust endings. But who can attack an almighty god? No one can and survive, these monsters found, so instead, these monsters took their anger out on the gods children- the demigods. You, Lewis, and Astoria. Annabeth, Jason Piper, and Percy too."
I gaped. "Astoria is a demigod?! And she never told me?!"
Chiron only seemed to nod sadly. "She couldn't tell you, not, at least, until you left Hogwarts with all the other wizards."
I wrinkled my brow. "Why couldn't she say tell me, or all of us?"
"Because that would be against the rules of the world. She promised she wouldn't."
"And where is Astoria now?"
"With Draco at Hogwarts. You'll be going back there in a few days- once you learn how to live right, as a demigod."
"If I'm going back to Hogwarts, why did I leave?" I wondered out loud to Chiron. On this, he shifted uncomfortable in his chair.
"Since you have demigod blood, Tira, you cannot be harmed by magic, but if it get inside your system, your body doesn't know how to handle it. At the same time as you can't be harmed by magic, you can't be healed by it either. So you needed to be treated here, with our medicine."
"What was wrong with me?" I asked. Wow... That sounded pathetic.
"You ate a trick cupcake- so I've been told. Draco is not liked by the majority of Hogwarts. He has made quite a few enemies, and that means you, as a friend to Draco, are an enemy too. So you are viable to pranks, and teasing." He took a deep breath. "And one of those pranks caught up with you. You ate a magically poisoned cupcake, and got very sick. Lewis was saying that your face turned blue, and your lips were purple. The color of your eyes swirled black and you hair... He said it wasn't pretty. Overall, you were badly under the weather, and they rushed you here. Minerva, the headmaster... well, she's not the normal wizard either. Under all those layers of teacher clothing, Minerva McGonagall, is a god. She is the Roman god of wisdom, and was there to teach the other race on Earth. She raced you here, so we could help you."
I nodded. That wasn't the strangest thing I've heard all day.
"And how did you help me?" I asked.
"With ambrosia squares," Chiron said. "And nectar- the food of the gods."
I nodded. Does anyone find that stranger then the events of the past few days? God food is magical, and can apparently heal us?
"But Ambrosia and nectar can only be eaten by demigods, and only small bits at a time. If not watched or monitored, it can burn up your mortal flesh."
Okay, it heals us to the point we can die. I feel like a sponge, and to me (the sponge), water is knowledge.
