Chapter 2

George

As we approached the hotel, my stomach growled desperately. Even after the big meal I inhaled at The Chevalier, I still felt empty. With a jolt, my body melted into world filled with cake, dancing around assorted scones and biscuits. Cherries and oranges spinning around my head, bowls of noodles and soups splashing around my ankles. The food beckoned me and called my name. "Geeoorge. Geeoorge."-

My hungered thoughts were interrupted by the loud creaking of the hotel door which was being tugged open with much effort by Ringo. The two girls and I followed behind him into the golden, satin lobby filled with plush chairs and shimmering crystal lights.

While we were walking across the smooth, black marble floor towards the elevator I could tell everyone was on the verge of collapsing from exhaustion. Jessica had been leaning on Ringo, who was slouching over himself, as if he were her own personal crutch ever since we left The Chevalier. The only one who hadn't seemed to be the least bit tired was Lorraine, who had practically skipped to the elevator door. She glanced back towards us and smiled calmly. Her energy intrigued me. There was so much more I wanted to learn about this girl.

Ringo, Jessica, and I trudged the rest of the way to the elevator too warn out to hardly even pick up our feet. Our eyelids heavy and drooping, we finally reached the shiny elevator doors where Lorraine, still smiling at us, pushed the white button to call the elevator down. Jessica leaned back up against Ringo and buried her face in his coat. Feeling a little rude by not showing my own affection, I wrapped my arm around Lorraine's waist and glanced over at Ringo proudly.

He gave me a disapproving look. I smiled and nonchalantly turned my gaze back to Lorraine. A utterly cheerful look painted her face as our eyes met. I smiled and rubbed her back slowly while we waited for the elevator.

There was a small beep and the elevator doors opened revealing a tiny wood lined area that would only fit about 5 people. We all stepped in cautiously and the two couples seperated into different corners of the eleveater as the door closed slowly in front of us. Ringo, who had been in front of the panel released Jessica's hand for just the second it took to press the numer 5. The floor jolted beneath us before it started moving upwards. We all stood in silence as we waited for the doors to open again. Lorraine started to impatiently bounce on the balls of her feet, her light hair swaying back and forth with each bounce. Jessica had once again put her head on Ringos shoulder, her large chocolate eyes staring up at him smiling

The elevator beeped and i looked forwards to see the doors open on our floor. I watched as Lorraine ran out towards the table across the hallway. Glancing back she beamed at us and sat down on the table crossing her arms in front of her. I grinned at her and walked out of the elevator. Seeing her in such a mood gave me more energy. I turned around to see Ringo and Jessica slowly walking out of the elevator like an elderly couple.

"Come on Rings you can go faster!" I teased him, flashing him my fangs.

Suddenly, a low, unfamiliar voice came from down the down hallway. "God, Jimmy! Help out for once, ya bastard!" I looked over to see a young man, around my age, strolling proudly down the great corridor. His dark brown hair hugged his round face, which had flat english features and almost asian looking eyes. Behind him trudged a shorter man with long, straight blonde hair and heavy sunglasses.

In his arms were two guitar cases and a bass case. Poor bloke could hardly keep it up and his friend who I guess was Jimmy didn't seem to mind at all.

Jimmy reached us and gave us a nod. I blushed a little when I noticed that we had been just standing in the hallway, staring. He didn't seem to mind though as he pressed the elevater button.

"Hullo," I said in my Liverpool accent. The others muttered a greeting and Jimmy muttered his. The blonde fellow hadn't yet reached us but was picking up on of the cases he had dropped and mumbling curses toward Jimmy.

The elevater door finally opened and Jimmy stepped inside, his gaze, strangely, never leaving Jessica. Ringo quickly noticed this and moved in closer to his love, protectively. Jimmy smiled slightly before the doors closed and he was gone.

"Damn bastard, that Page." The blonde one grumbled as he finally came up beside us. I grabbed one of the cases he held before it tumbled to the floor.

"Thanks, lad."

"No problem at all."

"I'm Keith by the way," he said as he freed his hand and pressed the elevator button.

"George. And this is Ring-"

"Oh, I know. I love your work." The doors then opened and Keith grabbed the case from my hand. "Well thanks," he said warmly and disappeared just as Jimmy had.
