Tess POV
I roamed the halls at 8 am in the university. Wednesday are my long days, Friday's are study days. In between are whatever I need to get done for a test or homework. Then it's Netflix. I finished running over my schedule in my head and entered the lecture room. Here we go.
4 pm hit and I finally was getting out of school, on the way home. Maybe stopping for a coffee and a new book would help ease the stress of the day. I entered Barnes and Nobel looking in the young adult section. They always have the best stories. I ran my fingers over the backs of a row of books, grabbing The Cabin. As I read the back, my mind became intrigued. I pulled the book to my chest as I walked to the cash register.
"Good evening mam, find everything ok?"
"Yes I did, thank you."
The lady behind the counter smiled and put my book into a sack.
"You have a nice night."
"You too."
I kept a smile, as she did, through the whole transaction. I feel if you're nice to everyone your service and the way they see you is better. I did the same when I grabbed my coffee. When I finally left it had started to rain, but when I walked in it was sunny and warm. I huffed lightly and walked quickly to my car, that was three streets away. I may have window shopped in thrift store, thinking I would have a nice walk for once. As I walked to my car, I kept my head down. Avoiding all social transactions that could occur. But in doing this I didn't see the door to the bar open. Walking out the most feared man around. Mr. Knight. I just moved slightly and sped up. He is bad news. As I turned the corner, I peaked over my shoulder to see his stare on me. Weird.
I reached my car, rushing to get in. Feeling my anxiety rise. When this happens I usually pass out or get so tired I loose the ability to fear and care. Which could cause problems, but I'm only going home so it shouldn't be a big deal.
I walked through the hallways of my apartment complex, half asleep. I detached my keys from my lanyard, opening the door to my small apartment. As I walked in the house felt different, it's usual safe vibe was replaced with unease and dread. I shrugged it off, sitting on the couch. I only sit inside, alone. But it's not bad, I only have to worry for myself. I felt myself drift into a sleep as a random show flashed across the tv, reflecting off my grey walls. My eyes shut and I was out for the night.

Caleb POV
"Mr. Knight, I have some papers that need signed and looked over."
I nodded as a snack the height of my coffee mug was laid on my desk. They always bring in stacks, not just a couple papers. This is actually the smallest stack they've brought in for about a month. I continued to go through the bull shit paper work when my best friend came in, Dean.
"Drinks?"
I pointed at the stack of papers that had been almost cut in half, in a 4 hour period.
"So I'm going to take that as a yes, go get ready."
He walked out. He is the only person that could ever get me out of this chair. I stood from my desk, to go walk to my room.
"Dean!"
My door opened and he snared at me intently. "Are we dressing nice?"
"If you want some chicks yes."
"You know how I am about that."
I said lower, I hate using girls.
"Sorry, just dress up a bit. You never know who you might meet."
I nodded and grabbed a black button up, jeans, and some of my black vans. Throwing them on, leaving my hair in its natural messy state. I walked down the stairs to see all the guys dressed up. That's how they get girls. By looking nice and like a gentleman.
"Let's go to the club."
We all jumped in the Jeep, there was three of us and room for three more. Or two because I'm usually the designated driver after they get there girls. As we pulled up I had the erg to drink til I drop, but I held back and got a beer.
"Come on, let go alittle Caleb."
"If I let go, you guys won't get you chicks and you'll be carrying me to the car."
"Ugh, fine. But next time let go."
"Ok."
I continued to drink as Dean and Tyler got girls on there arms.
"Caleb let's go."
I nodded and headed for the door as the guys left there girls.
"What about them?"
"We're making drinks at home and having a small party tonight. Maybe if you got out of the office you would know."
Tyler said pushing me a bit.
"Not my fault I'm the leader, I keep your ass safe."
We laughed and I opened the door. As I looked down I almost hit a girl. She caught my eyes for a second and I became instantly mesmerized. Her bright blue eyes, light carmel hair, and little form. I kept my eyes on her as she walked quickly through the rain. I caught her blue eyes one more time before she turned the corner.
"Caleb? What happened?"
"That girl."
"Words buddy, what about her?"
"She will be mine."
"Dean he's in love."
I heard Tyler say. I looked over and scrunched my eye brows together.
"Do you feel protective over her? How about possessive? What would you do if a guy flirted with her?"
"Damn it, lets go find her."
The guys laughed as we got into the Jeep. I followed her car really far behind, not wanting to put her at unease. I got to her apartment complex and went to a room. I knew it was hers because I some how managed to see the number on her lanyard. Glad I'm observant. It was unlocked, the guys followed me in and I locked the door. For a cue when she come in.
"Guys hide. She'll be asleep when we take her."
"Do you think this is wrong?"
"I'm a Knight do you think I'd ever be able to approach her without her running."
"True."
The guys settled in a closet while I sat in the bathroom. As I sat I heard the door open, and a light sniffle. The TVs beam flickered through the hall, then I heard the closet open.
"Caleb, she's out."
I opened the door and looked at the couch. She hadn't even taken her shoes off. I stepped closer and tears had dried on her cheeks.
"Caleb, lets go. Before the party starts."
I grabbed her lanyard and threw it at Dean.
"Don't loose those, I'll need to come back to get her clothes."
He nodded and they left for the car so I could grab her. As I picked her up she snuggled into my chest. I carried her out of the apartment and down the stairs when Tyler grabbed my arm.
"Should we take her car? Just in case?"
I nodded and he smiled lightly.
"Caleb, you've been smiling since you looked at her."
"Shut up and go get her car. I'll meet you at home."
Dean was in the drivers seat and I got up front with her in my lap.
"She the one bro?"
"Never been more certain."
We got home and Dean has come around to open the door.
"I owe you one Dean, I really do."
"Once I find my girl, i except the same craziness."
I felt myself laugh and I nodded. I looked back at the girl in my arms and she hadn't moved since I picked her up. We walked into the house and were met with my sister, Gwen.
"Who's the girl?"
"Long story, I'll tell you everything once I put her in bed. But can I use some of your clothes?"
"Caleb, my clothes will be alittle big."
"Spandex? That's all I need."
"Lucky I love you brother."
I went to my room and heard my sister sigh.
"Gonna spill?"
"Love at first sight."
I felt her touch my shoulder and confusion filled her eyes.
"You kidnap her?"
"Gwen, what's our last name? Nobody can just look at us with out fear. Or well me, because I'm the face of this shit."
"I'll help, I'll make sure to keep her company's she's scared."
"You don't live here tho."
"I'll take my spare room, plus all the girls went out of town. I'll be here for about two weeks."
I nodded and smiled. She put the shorts on the bed.
"Don't touch her in any way that could make her upset in the morning. Just put the shorts on."
"I know Gwen, I'm not like that."
My door was shut and I slipped her shoes off. When I looked back up she was shifting. I stood quietly as she grabbed a pillow and crushed it to her chest. I snickered and grabbed the black throw blanket from the couch. As I covered her, I felt a since I'd ease knowing she was up here. I left to go have a drink.
"She ok?"
"Didn't wake up, I just came for drinks. I'm going to sleep on the couch. So if she comes down, I'll be here."
They nodded and went to the party in the basement. I felt myself doze off into a sleep, in which I was aware of my surroundings but asleep.
